Beat Rennala and Radahn pretty easily. Then I went to the war torn catacombs and got my shit handed to me by the Putrid Tree Spirit like three times in a row, lost 140k runes and promptly rage quit. Fuck that thing. Gonna have to try it again later.

 

I'm going through a crisis in RL1 where I wanna light roll but I also don't want to mess up the Brave Sir Robin glam

Am almost at Rennala now, took a break to sidequest for a while and also find cool weapons but kept getting destroyed by Commander O'Neil so am back to Raya Lucaria

 

lol I also first attempted that dungeon around the same time. I just went back later when I was 30 levels higher.

 

There are quite a few but you will get used to fighting it. You are probably under level so just come back.

 

I hated the tree spirits and Erdtree avatars. No matter how many times I fought them they always gave me a hard time.

 

I bashed my head against a wall vs an Erdtree Avatar a couple nights ago and when I finally beat it I told my wife "yeah there are like 10 more" and she was heavily questioning why I was playing

 

You just have to literally be right next to them and they can't really do anything. Plus, sneaking up on them to knock down their health is huge. But they can definitely be a pain.

 

The ulcerated tree spirit right after the lake of rot is a real son of a bitch and I could never beat that one in my original playthrough. Tried like 20 times before I gave up to do other stuff.

 

Wanna just reiterate that the dude is a higher level now than I was when I beat the game.

Not that level honestly means a whole lot. If I hadn't had Mimic Tear or my head bash Ash I'd probably have had my shit kicked in a billion times too.

 

Pretty much this, yeah. I don’t have a lot of stuff that you get from the tougher areas of the game since I just farmed runes for like 80 levels lol. So I’m incredibly overpowered for a lot of dungeons and enemies but that fucker was a heat check for sure.

 

I think that's what is satisfying though. Encountering enemies or bosses that overwhelm you, but then you get the right item or attack to turn the tables. It's such a great feeling to no longer fear something.

 

Okay, okay, I gave up way too easily before. He is dead.

Still trying to figure out what my weapons for RL1 will be but right now I'm leaning towards main hand Morningstar + Uchigitana, off hand Banished Knights Shield + Wakizashi + Clawmark Seal

 

Got Rennala down (more annoying than difficult at RL1) and got O'Neil down finally as well. Progressing Millicent's questline slowly and probably heading to Carian Manor. I don't wanna do EVERYTHING in the game but I do at least want to get all remembrances.

 

I just cheesed the shit out of the Black Blade Kindred outside the Bestial Sanctum, that thing can get absolutely fucked
