After beating Lady Butterfly is when I felt like I understood what I was doing, after beating Genichiro on the castle is when I actually understood what I was doing, beating the game is when I actually felt like I mastered it The game does a great job of pacing in terms of "at X point I am at X skill"
The first Genichiro fight, which is honestly too far in now I look back - I feel that was the point it clicked for a majority of players, but I wish I had taken the time to just let low-level enemies attack me (or even spent more time practicing with Hanbei the Undying) and practice parrying/deflecting them and, most importantly, listening to the sounds the clashing swords make, as that is as big a clue as any as to what to do in any given battle you are in.
Looking at the animations themselves of the collisions is big too, that's how I ended up not having too hard a time vs Lady Butterfly, recognizing when she was blocking me vs when she was deflecting me so I could react properly
I didn't realize that Armored Core Six was slated for this year, I thought it was just announced with no date in mind and I am so excited.
May or may not have died inside Might need to find the estus shards I missed so I never feel like this again hahaha
I'm low on embers so if anyone feels like starting DS3 on PC let me know and then summon me for things please it's rough out here Am doing decent farming but it still takes so long In other news I've made the transition to being a full time light roller
Sorry for all the double posts but no longer losing it, Ashes Of Ariandel down, Ringed City to go Sister Friede remains an all time favorite, maybe my absolute favorite FromSoft boss
This game is ridiculously hard so far and I’m sure it doesn’t get any easier. Just beat the Chained Ogre only to find out that I immediately need to fight a samurai general surrounded by a mob. I’m sort of starting to get the hang of some of the combat but find myself still trying to brute force my way through things. Beautiful game too, I love the setting.
I stealth killed the whole mob first in that area, which got very tiring once you get into double digits for deaths to the general haha. Have you met an old lady that gives you a small prayer bell yet? She should be in a half-destroyed house in the area before you fight the ogre - that bell gives you access to a different area that I personally found very helpful to go through early on, as there are lots of weak enemies you can practice deflecting on and also lots of cool shit you can pick up too.
Finally beat the general. Wound up getting a deathblow and luring him outside the courtyard, setting him on fire a few times really helped. I had already gone to the area after getting the bell from the old lady who thinks I’m her son so I have the flamethrower and the axe. It was good practice trying to be stealthy.
Reading an Elden Ring hot takes thread on reddit today (I know, that was my first mistake) is my villain origin story
got a PS5 and i finally am playing Bloodborne. i'm very early but i def feel the differences in the mechanics/combat so far. i'm fighting the first boss rn
Oh! also, i don't think i ever got far in Dark Souls (only played it a bit before ER came out) i don't think i got to an actual boss in my time with it
I would never say that Bloodbourne is my favorite FS game but you are in for a treat. Such a great universe in a single game
Bloodborne might be my favorite game of all time. It’s the coolest story of any FS game. The turn it takes halfway through the game is so fucking cool
