MALENIA DOWN Easily my favorite demigod fight, everything about it was beautifully done. Even the waterfowl dance didn’t annoy me too much despite killing me close to a dozen times.
Just beat the game, feeling a whole range of things right now. Went with Ranni's ending and already want to do a replay. Went mostly dex/str this time, want to try faith/int next time. What an incredible game, absolutely one of my favorites. Think I’ll try one of the Dark Souls games next before round two.
Yeah, "Best Mystery" is the kind of award you give when you have no other award to give, but Elden Ring should have all the awards. EDIT: I realize I say this and have not played any other From games. I'm standing by my statement regardless.
Bloodborne as best weapons is so spot on though. Bloodborne is the game where I most wanted to try damn near everything I found
Sekiro has the best combat, dark souls 3 probably has the best bosses but it’s close with sekiro. Never played bloodborne or 2 and I still have a handful of bosses left in dark souls but god damn did that game feel like a fucking chore
The general absence of much of the time wasting stuff from the old games in Elden Ring was a *big perk for me and should be its own category. But sure "Best Mystery"
I finally beat the main Bloodborne campaign over the long weekend and got the burial blade in NG+ so 100% agree with it having the best weapon design. I love a big sword though so Ludwig's Holy Blade has been my go to just like the great sword was in ER. Some of my favorite outfits/armors are in BB too. Best world design goes to ER for me though. Giving you the option to essentially go anywhere in the world the second you drop in, especially if you know where to go, is pretty great and adds a ton of replayability.
Agree with both things. I do think ER is pretty strong in outfits/armors too though but I think Bloodborne stands alone in weapons and Elden Ring stands alone in world design. And then yeah like @skoopy said best quality of life is Elden Ring for sure haha, even in the few moments when it's bad it's still better
Lol if you hadn’t posted it I would’ve. god knows playing these games feels like sailing with no direction sometimes (Oh that’s holiday lol)
I pumped out so much for Four Kings just to make sure I could get through it without worrying about the run back I did finish Dark Souls but while doing Bed Of Chaos I was 100% in the camp of "this is not fun" and the rest of the game definitely didn't make up for it. A shame given how fun the first half of the game was
Yeah, it felt like they lost a lot of steam towards the back half and it was just a matter of how to pile in more content.
Yeah I mean I know I could eventually get the four kings fight down but after like 4-5 tries and the insane amount of time it takes to get back I was like nope not for me
Will be starting demons souls tho (OG) and the idea of it just being 5 self contained levels sound fantastic to me
The pit right before pinhead or whatever his dumb ass name is was almost as frustrating as the four kings run. Thankfully I murked him on first try
I wanna try the remake again with a different build, I felt like the build I used really hindered my experience and kinda just made me tired of it (plus I'm very much like "cool boss fights pls" and Demons Souls is not as much about those fights) but there are so many cool concepts in the game
I have heard it’s vastly different from any other Souls game. I’m interested in playing it since it’s on PS+
