That's a fair point. My playthrough consisted of little more than whacking the things in front of me so I can't say I have much of a rational for my answer.

 

I'm juggling Dark Souls 2 and an Elden Ring second playthrough right now. In Dark Souls 2 I'm running a quality build and it seems to be going fine, still not sure how I feel about the game yet but there's a lot to love about it for sure, big fan of the world. In Elden Ring I'm running Strength+Faith and having more fun with it than I was before. Hoping to have the build in a good state when/if there are more 1v1 PVP options in the future and if not I'll always have my DS3 setup.

 

Went with Deeproot Depths first, Fortissax is now dead. Really cool boss arena/music. Time for Leyndell.

I have been having a lot of fun playing an INT/STR build ever since the latest big patch they released, the Cold Sorceries and the Ghostflame ones do a lot more damage now, plus the 2 or 3 things that do frost lightning damage got buffed too. I'd love some DLC soon but it's still entertaining to keep playing this game for now; I am hunting for all the rare drop weapons & armor and even a tedious endeavour like that is keeping my interest!

last night that is, i went to bed right after n had work in the morning
i'm glad i told myself "just one more try" after i died when he had a sliver of life left

i'm gonna go through Leyndell one more time to check more items i missed cause i know some things will be inaccessible once it changes to "ashen capital" (wish i knew WHICH parts)

 

Got the frenzied flame ending last night, very cool final cutscene and it has inspired me to do a madness build for playthrough #3!!! Finishing the game did remind me how much I hate the Elden Beast fight though lol

 

Elden Beast is a piece of shit. If From wants an auto-target system, don't make the target 50 meters high, assholes.

 

with the Fire Giant slain, my new enemy to beat my head against a wall to is the Godskin Duo

i managed to actually kill them both, and was confused as to why the "Duo" health bar was only half down.... ONLY FOR THEM TO BOTH FUCKING COME BACK TO LIFE
i was so mad lol

triple post since i know most people have already beaten the game but--

got Moonveil+Sword of Night/Flame to +10
got my Mimic to +10
killed Godfrey/Hoarah Loux. Killed Radagon once so far, good god the Elden Beast fight is insanely beautiful.

i just need to learn to make it through most of Radagon's fight before summoning so i'll have help for the second fight and i'll have actually beaten it

 

everyone in the comments mentioning my thoughts- that is this is basically Blasphemous, which apparently that person also did art for!

 

Beat Morgott using mimic tear on my tenth try and I really wish I hadn’t used it, made it way too easy. Loved the cutscene though.
