Everyone should realize that these games have an easy mode, and it’s unlocked by posting about how impossible and bullshit a boss is
Deeproot Depths is both incredibly pretty and incredibly frustrating. I fucking hate the platforming in Elden Ring, and of course they make an entire area built around tiny thin walkways. Fuck you, From Software. But it's a very well-built level and once you get to firmer ground in the city, it's just an interesting location to roam around in. And of course the boss fight that awaits you...
Productive night tonight, in addition to Radahn I cleared Nokron (minus the aqueduct), Ainsel River, and started Carian Study Hall
Only boss that I ever cheesed or it died without my help was the deathbird in Luirnia. Just randomly died after I got it to 30% health
It kicked my ass the first try, I didn’t think it was too bad until that stupid unending roll attack got me. Was pretty amusing watching that same attack be its undoing. Debating finishing Ranni’s quest first or starting Fia’s now that I’ve got the cursemark of death.
One of those giant deer Ancestor Spirit bosses just fell through the floor and died at a good 85-90% health for me lol That rolling attack is the single most annoying attack in the game, I still have no idea how to evade it I just stand behind pillars etc. until it finishes! Also you can't go wrong with either of those quests tbh, both great when you get towards their end!
First 60 seconds: I didn't remember it being so so bad because everything in the game is pretty much two hits I'm dead but yeah insane how long it lasts for starters
Decided to continue with Ranni, I was worried about one locking the other out but it doesn’t look like they do. I love Nokron and Nokstella.
They definitely don't as I completed both. They're certainly the most involved NPC quests as they give context to Nokron and Deeproot Depths.
I thought Caelid was the coolest location. Then I thought Lyndell was the greatest but now I’m absolutely vibing to Crumbling Azula. Very cool souls area
I have a confession to make. When I posted this, I totally confused Deeproot for the Haligtree. However, that's more on From for giving us two areas that I could describe as above and not be wrong.
Found my first Somber Ancient Dragon Stone and unsure which of my two or three mains to upgrade. It’s probably between my blasphemous blade or my winged scythe
Yeah they are great areas - just got to Nokstella on my NG+ playthrough, one of the boss fights down there is probably my fav in the whole game! Blasphemous Blade, 100%
