Update: figured out what was missing in my technique Now on to Ringed City, might skip Midir though cuz it's so unbelievably tedious and not fun, do not wanna do that again
I left for a few days and beat Carian Manor and a little of Siofra River. Just beat him with three hits of bloody slash, no idea why I didn’t try that before. I’m doing a dex bleed samurai. The close quarters definitely didn’t help, I’d find myself cornered by him pretty easily. The run up to it was annoying too. On to the rest of the academy!
Yeah I called it a night after dying to it a few times. Kept getting it down to 1/4 health only to be insta-killed by the rot breath. Beat Commander O’Neil and started Millicent’s quest. Think I’ll explore some more Caelid caves/catacombs before coming back.
I went back WAY later after I had some talismans that increased my defences against rot, very annoying boss (but great design!)
Yeah, if you're talking about the one in Crumbling Farum Azula, then you can summon Bernahl to help. Frankly, by that time I'd seen the both of them separate and together enough (and by then I'd completed all the optional activities except for the ones in Azula itself) to where it really didn't give me any trouble. Do you also have the Mimic? Letting the Mimic do some of the heavy lifting got me through more than one tough fight.
Yes summoned him and my mimic. My mimic is kinda dumb in that fight. I’ll keep at it I had them down to 20% last time. It’s more frustrating that the banished knights are pretty tough and I can’t spawn away from them when I die.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I did fucking hate that it doesn't spawn you outside their chamber like with almost every other boss fight. Instead you have to work your way back. I would just try to run from the knights if you can, it's not worth the trouble to keep fighting them every time.
Yes but I like to buff up before the gate. Saw a walkthrough where I can use sleep against them. Will try
Being honest, the only buffing I ever did before the boss gate was drinking my mixed physick. I probably could have used half a dozen consumables I had on me, but I was lazy and didn't want to fuck with it.
its crazy how much easier a 2nd playthrough can be tbh...I started a strength/pyro playthrough on DS3. I beat Aldrich today in literally 3 minutes. The first time I played through the game, I think it took me 1.5-2 hours. I think I have only died to a boss like 3 times max so far.
