No, the Red Wolf in Southwest Liurnia turned me off ever wanting anything to do with those things again, and since it would give me nothing I need, I said fuck you and ran away.

Player's Log: I've finished everything in the Haligtree except for the obvious. Because she sucks. She's dreadful. I fucking hate this. I was so excited when I finally beat the first phase because I forgot there's a second phase. And now I'm feeling like I'm never going to do this. Like, it's hard enough beating her the first time and there's a second time too? UGGGGGH.

Player's Log: I have completed most questlines except for Brother Corhyn, who I can't complete until I reach the City of Ash.

As for how that's going, I've completed everything I can do in Crumbling Farum Azula, except for the Black Blade, who vexes me still. I feel like it's only a matter of time though.

I really hope I can finish this game tomorrow. I don't have much left. I'm going to try to get all the endings using save file shenanigans; I do not plan to play New Game+ or whatever. I plan to get all the achievements and then lay this to rest.

Maliketh is tough boss, he is fast and jumps all over the place.

Plus, that knight outside his fog door…

    …yeah, fuck that guy.

Oh yeah, that guy was a bitch. A Tree Sentinel with no Torrent and no Spirit Ashes? Fuck. The only reason I didn't die to him is because my attacks caused bleed at the last minute. I literally survived with only a shred of health.

I got so tired of fighting him I would literally run past him to the fog door with my middle finger up.

    Eventually I did beat him.

Player's Log: It is done. I beat Malekith. I beat Hoarah Loux. I beat Radagon of the Golden Order. I beat the Elden Beast.

I finished Elden Ring. All achievements. 100% complete. What a fucking adventure.

If I had to lodge one complaint at this time, it's that the endings leave a little something to be desired. I only saw the basic ending, the Age of Stars ending, and the Frenzied Flame ending, and the latter had some cool visuals, but there wasn't a lot happening in any of them. It kind of wasn't that satisfying. I dunno what I expected though.

Anyway, the catharsis of finally finishing this game though is unbeatable. Thanks for tagging along with me on this adventure. Thanks to my benefactor for giving me this opportunity. Now, as they say in the Offspring, time to relax.

Congrats! I have to go with the Age of the Stars ending for the best. Although, the frenzied flame ending is pretty badass and the animation to get "marked" as well.

It's so hard to say, because they all have their own aesthetic that makes them interesting.

Caelid, the Mountaintops, the Haligtree, Crumbling Farum Azula, all really cool to look at and explore. Even Limgrave and Liurnia, despite being common in appearance, are still beautiful to roam around.

It's easier for me to talk about the areas that didn't impress me. The Snowfield for example, just felt like more of the same after Mountaintops, but less interesting. The underground areas are also kind of meh, but only because they share so much in common with normal dungeon caves. Nokron is the exception that proves the rule, the best part of the underground is the part that looks nothing like it.

I'm like that scene in Blade Runner where Roy Batty is dying and stabs himself in the hand going "Not yet! Not...!"

Agree with most of that tbh; they dropped the ball massively with Consecrated Snowfield and ended up with one of the most frustrating areas I can remember in any game. The choice of enemies there, and in the 2nd half of Mountaintops IMPO, seemed like they just picked them at random - you already have like 50 unique enemy types, why not 2 or 3 more instead of re-using ones that are strongly linked in the players mind to a totally different area lol.

If you are looking for another game to play now, I'm sure that you would enjoy Sekiro - much smaller in scope but still retaining so much of the qualities that makes Elden Ring so enjoyable.

It's funny, case I was telling Nate, I actually bought Sekiro a few days ago on sale.

But I'm not going to play it right now. I want to play some smaller, more relaxing games before I take on something big like that again.

I’m playing DS1: Remastered and I think Sens Fortress or the Crystal Caves earn most frustrating for level design but yeah as far as difficultly goes, Consecrated Snowfield earns a spot.
