Once you get to the first site of grace it's not so bad. It's getting past that giant white blob fucker that can one-shot you with that magic attack that seeks you out.
2 erdtree avatars and 5 clean rot knights in the span of 5 minutes followed by falling into a floor of revenants is actual hell
Not to mention that ulcerated tree spirit in the pond of rot. Fuck that guy. Ended up cheesing him with comet from the other side of the map.
Lol I’m literally on the Fire Giant now, what do I need to do? Get them down to 1/2 health and phase two they’ll just drain their health?
I really hated Haligtree up to Loretta. After that, I fucking love it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard as shit later on, but I can’t stand the rooftop and ladder navigation in the first part with so many ranged mobs going after you with a lot of knockback from the melee mobs. My least favorite fromsoft design tendency, ran into some bullshit giant knock back enemies on tiny little bridges in DS3, and now that I think about it Sekiro too. Bad design can’t stand that shit. But once you start making your way down to the bottom the difficulty doesn’t feel cheap anymore since it’s not about the level design being oppressive, just the mobs which is how it should be. And from there it’s just gorgeous, stunningly designed with architecture that rivals the best of the best level design in the history of video games.
wow i suddenly managed to beat the magma wyrm that was pissing me off last night, first try (of today)
has anyone done that quest for Irina, at Castle Morne? i think i fucked it up (since i can't really keep track of the side quests in this game) and i'm wondering if this is salvageable
I may be wrong but i'm sure that i read that no matter what Irina will be found dead. Maybe somebody can confirm?
I also wondered about that quest and wondered what I did wrong. I never found anyone to give a letter to
her father is supposed to be up in the castle, he's at like the highest tower or whatever. but because i missed him the first time (definitely forgot,) i went and killed the Leonine Misbegotten at a later point and then just left the area again. so i def probably just failed the quest entirely.
I'm not sure how far into it I am, but I've got two main bosses (Godrick and Radahn) down, along with most of the minibosses I could find in Limgrave, Liurnia and Caelid. I've made decent progress in The Atlus Plateu, the Volcano region, etc. So far I'm gonna say this might be GOTG or me. I love anything with challenging in-depth combat systems, and there's a sense of adventure I haven't felt since Shadow of the Colossus and, before that, Zelda 2:TAOL (the pre-GCN Zelda game I played). And one of the most mechanically deep open world RPGs I could imagine. It keeps you coming back and every bit of progress feels earned in a way that most games don't allow to happen. Then you've got the memorable creature designs and stunning environments, especially the architecture and sense of wonder everything has. Randomly stumbling upon the Siofra River is breathtaking, as is exploring Stormveil Castle and The Academy for the first time. It seems like there are surprises and genuinely interesting moments roughly every thirty minutes or so. I can't think of anything in the past decade other than GOW and RDR2 that feels like such a leap forward in design on all fronts. Having arguably one of the top three important epic fantasy authors involved is the icing on the cake. And this is a last gen game. I can't even imagine how amazing From's future work will be. ^_^
something i just remembered about this; i forgot about the whole group password feature on this game. should we set one up for Chorus? that mainly lets you see messages from others using that password right?
frankly, I don't think enough of us are playing anymore, plus it's on a per platform basis. That said, good way to have less messages appear for those that are bothered by them, I reckon.
Finally getting back on the main path and loving the academy. Great for a faith Boi like me. I’m pretty high level for it too just mowing down peeps. The Redwolf was down in one try.
