Love my huge sword. I also suck at souls games as this is the first one I've ever really dug deep into. I think you just need to be up at a higher endurance level with higher scaled stats for it to be a decent option. At level 150 w/ a str/fth build I have the great sword maxed out, w/ sacred affinity + bloodhound step and I power stance with a maxed zweihander w/ flame art. The combo tends to be tanky and slow for the most part but high endurance helps me avoid chunky rolling. Definitely not good for early/midgame but it wrecks vs the majority of enemies I come up against at this point. The R1 roll poke on the great sword is also dirty and bloodhound step gives me the speed poke and retreat. If I really wanna do a lot of damage in one hit the jumping L1 is great . Its a fun build for me personally. You just need to time your strikes well so you dont get punished. its definitely not suited for everyone though. Rocking the great sword with a heavy shield is just a silly move though. At least two hand that mf to max your damage output.
This is the first From game I've played new on release. Since the release of Sekiro, I'd been playing all the other titles back-to-back until I got major burnout. Which I would let it wear off and then pick up whatever game I left off on feeling refreshed. I tried playing NG+ but I was bored at how easily I was destroying everything. Tried making a new character for a arcane/faith build but now I just miss my old character. :(
Feels worse for ER just because of the amount of time I put into it. Just finished the game yesterday and Im feeling it today.
farum great bridge just kill the little dudes right next to the bestial sanctuary and they are worth a nice 1000 runes and there’s like 18 there
I feel this. NG+(s) don’t have the same feel as your original play through. It definitely is nice to kick a bosses ass after you struggled with it for so long on your first play through though. NG+ is easy mode for sure.
Speaking of which I made it to lady butterfly and got to phase 2 on first try but holy shit idk what to do when she has all those adds
She’s really not that hard to deflect it’s just her recovery time is pretty brutal but the adds overwhelmed me quick
Now that I've beaten ER, if I visit the turtle pope will he tell me that he's proud of me? If not, they should add that as DLC.
I'm aware this is advice you have not asked for so I have spoiler-tagged it if you'd prefer to complete the fight blind; If you ignore fighting LB and literally run laps around the area you can avoid all the ghosts/apparitions, then when she brings them all back in and fires the weird butterfly beam thing at you, you can just stand behind one of the wood pillars and it will hit that instead of you Apologies if you'd rather not have me just jump in randomly like this & offer advice you have very likely worked out for yourself lol, its just I love this game but got into it late and therefore have literally never had the opportunity to talk about it either online or IRL!!!
just beat the game and got all 3 endings and got my platinum (Sidenote- if you're on Xbox its a pain in the ass lol you gotta trick the game into thinking youre offline by disconnecting the internet) feels good, but also sad...probably gonna start up one of the DS games now
lady butterfly down after 5 total attempts i believe lol, second try tonight. if you whittle some health then hit a bunch of deflects shes mad easy in phase 1 and in phase 2 if you just stay on the move the skeletons are easy to avoid and you just whittle her health down again but i relied less on deflecting to be safe especially after i had to use my res and had no heals left
Not gonna lie I just burnt my snap seeds on the adds I knew I could avoid the blasts and use the pillars or whatever but I was lazy
