Maliketh. Oh boy…

 

I definitely agree the way they balance rune acquisition in this is so goofy and needs adjustment in some places. I love that I get like 3500 for the broken gargoyles that cant move in deeproot (amazing farming spot btw) while I only get 400 for the Mausoleum knights in that same area who actually put up somewhat of a fight.

 

maybe when/if we get the DLC, we'll get a "Scholar of the First Sin" style rebalance of Elden Ring. I'd love that.

 

Finished the academy on NG+3 and the scaling is starting to show, even regular enemy health is starting to make things trickier. But the amount of damage bosses output now is starting to take a noticeably sharp curve upward even though I’m pretty sure the scaling is just a 10% increase every time aside from when you do your first NG+ and it increases by 50%. Still I was over leveled enough and had my weapons maxed out so journey 2 didn’t feel more challenging until right at the very end.

 

Maliketh was easily my favorite boss.

Cutscene was insane. And the OST is incredible

He will be my favorite boss when he is dead!!! He is definitely a challenge but that cutscene was pretty cool. Although, the Fire Giant cutscene mad me cringe a little and I’ve seen some messed up stuff.

the fact I’m level 90 with like 47 vigor and commander o Neil can three shot me and he only gives me 12000 runes is wild

I was panicking today because I booted the game and it said save broken and I was like oh no but it was only the cloud save that was messed up the storage save was good and I was like thank god

i did not want to lose 45 hours of work at all

 

Every boss aside from Gideon and godskin duo is incredible once you hit fire giant. Really great stuff all around.

 

Elden Beast hard

 

I watched that clip waiting and listening for someone to yell "Shut the fuck up" and I'm getting the feeling that's not what I was supposed to be doing.

 

Did it, rolled credits! Easily a top 5 game for me, the immersion, the sense of wonder and dread, how rewarding exploration felt, really unlike anything I've played. Might take a small break then continue on with Journey 2, got a lot of dex and maybe int stuff I want to try out

 

I DID IT! After 97 hours played finally beat Elden Beast yesterday. I got the Age of the Stars ending which I guess is one of the better ones? I was kind of looking foward to see myself on the throne, but whatever!

I agree with the user above me. One of the best games I've ever played. It will be hard to beat that first week when I and three friends met up in voice chat every day and discovered the world together. A few bosses during the last third unfortunately were so bad/frustrating they almost made me change my opinion on the game but looking back on the game as a whole now I'm able to look past that.

I still have a few optional bosses left (Malenia first and foremost) and I'm looking forward to discover what's left of the world in a calm pace, without the nagging feeling of not having beaten Elden Beast.

 

It's definitely in my top 3 of all time. I just don't want to give in to the recency bias and declare it better than BotW.

 

I think it will safely claim the title for this year now that BOTW 2 is delayed. GOW might be the only competitor but it has huge shoes to fill, if it even comes out this year.

 

as far as I know the only reason GoW didn't come out last year was because Christopher Judge was hospitalized.

 

Ok, beat horizon forbidden west so I’m officially diving into Elden Ring! Usually I go for quality build with enough int for a few key spells…how’s the faith vs. magic debate landing in this one?

 

So far I’ve gotten it to like 25% and then from that point on the attacks are so wild that I just can’t even get close enough to get a hit in

 

Looking at you all beating Malekith and Elden Beast etc and im taking the dive into my first Souls game and im buzzing i beat a Demi Human, Stonedigger Troll, Beastman and Watchdog and in the one playthrough before getting obliterated haha

 

I was trying to do the sleeping dragon runes exploit but I just straight up killed the thing instead and didn’t get to the site of grace on time lol

 

Lmao that’s still a lot of runes tho
