They change the scaling but your level isn't high enough to offset the base change. It will over time as you level up your character and the weapon.
maliketh was so fucking hard for me again lol but i got him eventually. phase 2 is just unfair. 16:40 for the win
No. Its not worth it to upgrade now. The reason that your weapon stats are going down is probably that your overall stats are still pretty weak. Going from D to C scaling decreases the base damage (this is the 146 going to 123). It also increases the scaling damage you do (this is going from 26 to 36) but if your stats are low enough the increased scaling doesn't make up for the decreased base damage. However, if you were to increase your strength and dex a few points then suddenly the base weapon would be something like 146+50 and the quality version would be something like 123+75 because it scales faster. At that point, it makes sense to switch because you're doing more overall damage. Also keep in mind, you should be able to apply the ashes of war but instead of selecting "quality" select no type, that should still let you use the skill without changing the scaling.
Journey 2 complete. I used co op on elden beast but tbh trying both solo and co op many times the co op fight is probably harder with how much more health both bosses have and someone died right during phase switch to elden beast
I've been stuck on the final boss for over a week now. 200+ tries. I've gotten its health down to the T in "beast" name a few times but it always gets me with the homing glowing things, sometimes combined with the ranged sword attack. I really don't want to give up now but I'm close to This is easily one of the best games I've ever played, but damn, the difficulty spike at the end is brutal.
Yeah fuck the Elden Beast. Have you gotten all the other bosses yet? Get yourself some more vigor and don’t forget to equip some amulets that negate magic (holy?) damage.
Yeah I'd recommend making sure you do all the extra bosses if you haven't to get some extra levels. Maybe respec if you need to, optimise your build and give it another shot.
lol I literally just had to grind out an elden beast win and now I’m sitting here trying to help people on co op get an elden beast win before I hit Journey 3. I literally just started using the co op mechanic and I’m super into it, both using it for help or helping others
I’ve said it before but most times I’ve struggled I was under leveled. That being said, I am not at the final boss yet, but I will be there very soon.
Can you imagine if Elden Ring was around when Nintendo Power was a thing? “Nate, why is the phone bill $500 dollars this month?!” “Ma, I had to know which way to go in Stormveil!”
one of the main reasons I wanted to play this game as early as possible, so there's still some mystery left.
