“My Friends Over You” came about towards the end of the recording sessions.

Personality is their most overrated song for me. Never been that crazy about it

 

One of my favorites on the album. Such an underrated jam.

 

I didn't know that. I love It's Been A Summer but I don't think the band/album would have exploded like it did if that was the lead single.

So we're missing Understatement, My Friends Over You, Sonny and Singled Out. The next voting bracket (minus whatever song goes up against Singled Out) is going to be brutal in trying to figure out what song to vote for.

Yeah, I think I remember reading a thing a while back where Chad said he was basically sitting in a movie theater when the MFOY riff came into his head, and for the rest of the movie he just sat there not paying attention, trying not to forget the riff. Then he rushed back to his guitar afterward to play it out and told the guys that he had one last song that he thought needed to go on the record.

Crazy that IBAS went from being the lead single to not being one at all, haha

 

Yeah we’ve had the movie theatre story for a long time but the IBAS part is something that came out within the last 3-4 years. Crazy that it eventually was never a single.

 

I like the song, but not as much as the other 3.

 

Never Give Up - Instant classic for me. I don't really like Head On Collision :x
It's Been a Summer - Chunky riff.
Something I Call Personality - I'd like to think what I have is real! Also the song gallops and I love it.
Forget My Name - it's good.
