Wooden Legs no good? This is news to me. It's their weakest for sure but it's still pretty remarkable in my eyes.
It sort of flew under my radar until I listened through their discography in prep for EFBN. But I've been pretty surprised at how solid it is. Sucks that some people don't even know it exists.
i was talking about the new record haha ] but yeah a friend (hello @Craig Ismaili) didn't know wooden legs existed either haha
Ohhhhh. There's hope for the album after all! I might try and make it a running thing in this thread to remind people of Wooden Legs' existence from here on out.
This is the wrong answer. Wooden Legs is lit. So are all of FIL's records. This band is damn near perfect.
This wasn't on my radar at all somehow. I'm a few tracks in and really enjoying this. Saw them going in this direction and they pulled it off really well IMO.
Had another good listen to this in the car. It's definitely a driving record. Favorites at this point are "Bare It," "Hello," "Sunlight," and "Rid of It". I think "Hello" is the standout for me.
only two listens into this but still nothing has gotten close to able bodies for me even though i prefer the sonic direction of this blank tapes my fav still
Able Bodies still strikes me as both their most cohesive and eclectic album. The back and forth between soft and aggressive was flawless. For me, this new album is too good to not be in consideration as their best, but it does make me wonder what it would be like if Joey decided to go back to the rawness of Able Bodies and Wooden Legs.
So, on my first listen, this flew over my head. Couldn't get into it. Next few listens, it grew. Now, here we are about 24 hours later and I'm loving it. Still can't get into Hello and I'm just not a fan of the vocal melody in Lose Myself. Otherwise, a solid solid album. Blank Tapes is the best, but I love The Monster, Bare It, and that stretch from Feel Love through Sunlight. Also worth mentioning, those last few moments in Come Back are killer. P.S. I got the demos to this through a pre-order package and if you thought it couldn't get any more moody, you're wrong.
