And I mean that in the sense of uselessly comparing quality. There's def Copeland vibes in the vocals here
But when someone says oh I get this vibe from this record why's it always gotta come down to which one you like more? That's not the convo
i thought you meant first two as in the only two anyone ever remembers, haha. sure you can see where i thought that
This album is very very cool. It gives me some major Copeland-Ixora vibes as others have said, but still very unique from that record.
Not to be a downer, but is anyone else disappointed by this one? I loved the direction he took with Absent Sounds, and I was super stoked when I read all the hype for EFBN and the direction he took, but it just falls flat to me. It's dreary, drowsy, lacking the dynamics that made me fall in love with him in the first place. The hooks don't pull me in. There's just not much that's memorable to me after about 10 listens, other than a handful of songs: Blank Tapes, Sunlight, Come Back, and maybe Hello.
I bought the album yesterday morning and it's growing on me with every listen. Plus my wife likes it which is a mega bonus!
Damn this album is gorgeous, definitely my favorite from them so far. Major Ixora vibes although I already see that's been covered
