I'm in the same boat. By the time I pay for shipping to Canada, it's about $72 CAD which is completely atrocious.
I started listening to these guys the other day and I’ve got through Able Bodies and Absent Sounds and holy shit, they’ve blown me away completely
They’re like a totally different band now from Able Bodies, but that album still is incredible, and if they ever revisit that sound I would be so down.
I think From Indian Lakes has honestly gotten better and better with each album. Too soon to tell with Dimly Lit though.
Able Bodies is an all-timer for me. If someone asked, “What’s your favorite kind of music?” and I had to sum it up in an album that’s the one I’d choose.
he is just really good at making soundscapes that perfectly embody that autumn/fall aesthetic i love so much.
I’m really loving this album right now. Garden Bed is my favorite at this point, but I can name a ton of others I’m really into: Heartbeat, It Pulls You Up, No One Else, pretty much the entire back half... This is probably my second favorite release from him at this point
I keep listening to this a lot. The fact he DIY'd this record is really damn impressive, it's unfortunate it's flying under the radar. Deserves more attention.
Yeah, why on earth is FIL not more popular here? I feel like they’re a pretty influential band for a lot of people elsewhere, but they fly under the radar on this site. I remember Able Bodies being a thing here when it released, so I would’ve expected them to be a Chorus.fm staple by now.
This is great but EFBN still is tops for me, I also thought that this would have a little more traction here. Oh well, I'm enjoying it anyway.
Finally spending time with this. Man is it hitting for me today. He has really honed in on a special sound.
Listened to EFBN now but still need to listen to this. Think it's gonna be a grower but I'm digging it! I think Awful Things is my fave song they've done so far out of the three albums I've heard (Able Bodies, Absent Sounds, EFBN)
