I’ve had a few listens now but I’ve not been gripped like I was with Everything Feels Better Now. Both in a musical or a lyrical sense. That was such a special album for me though so I’ll give this a chance.
Still letting this digest, it's not connecting with me right now. It's been four years since I last loved any album at first listen, so I'm hoping I like it better in time. I can definitely appreciate the experimentation though, it's why I love their discography's progression. I can't pick a favorite album, love them all. Anyways, I do have some favorites - New Love, It Pulls You Up, and Garden Bed. Easily some of my favorite FIL songs ever. Also, When It's Love You Want is so beautiful. Side note -- Joey has a cafe in Harlem. I went for the first time last weekend and damn, I've never had a better latte in my life. SHUTEYE COFFEE (@shuteyecoffee) • Instagram photos and videos
Been listening nonstop since Friday, liking it more and more every listen. There are so many songs I have to listen right after to hear it again, enjoying the different vocalists as well, adds a good layers that meshes with Joey's voice. Now is it too much to ask for acoustic for alt versions of there songs? lol
Yes! Hard agree, even though my car seems to burry the vocals. :( Honestly when letting this album sink in, I had this though process: Wow, Joey might be one of my favorite guitarists... ....and drummers... .......aaaannndd bassists. Crazy that one guy did al of this. Lol
Yeah my only complaint are the vocals, really are buried in there. The guest vocals are great though, really break up the same-yness of it. Could maybe use some different dynamics, like a change in pace here and there, but it seems like he was really going for a vibe on the record.
I think this is the first time I’ve enjoyed every single track on an album this long. It’s so dense I find something new to like every listen. Right now my fav tracks are Garden Bed, Your Heartbeat Against Mine, Did We Change & I’m Right Here. So good.
Heartbeat has been on repeat all week. This album is another winner and I'm constantly in awe of just how creative this dude is. He needs to be a bigger name.
I absolutely love this album. I missed the drop and just getting around to it and wow. I think I'm going to buy a ticket to his upcoming show right now. I liked the last album a lot to, but on first listen, I think I'm digging this more. Stereotypical I know, but I can't wait to get high and just zone out to this.
I have not listened to this album (or really any new release from the past month and a half) enough. What is the one song on this album to throw on a playlist that will constantly remind me how bad of a decision that is until I finally give this the time it warrants?
