I contributed a cover to this charity comp for Tiny Changes that just got released. Can’t believe it’s been 4 years. We miss you Scott. Extrasupervery Friends - A Tribute to Scott Hutchison, by Not Cool DIY
forgot to share it here tuesday but wrote about MOF and @Glaurung was a dork about it HYLI Vol. XLIII - Parkway Drive and Frightened Rabbit
Got an email about this year bringing on the 10th anniversary of Pedestrian Verse and they updated their merch store with a special edition PV vinyl (11 bonus tracks), as well as an exact replica of Scott's lyric book while writing that album Warner Music Official Store
oh man down for that, my favourite album from these guys. "Today's Cross" not being included is wild though, best b-side from those sessions
I actually don't know that I've heard Today's Cross! Most of the other b-sides sound familiar from what I've seen on Spotify
Did anyone get an extra lyric booklet? Sold out in the US store and the shipping from the UK is expensive but I’m still considering it.
what's been everyone's favorite cover released so far? With these volumes and the band's official tiny changes obviously (plus any other's I'm not aware of). Think my top two are: Modern Leper - Biffy (julien's is great too) Poke - Daughter Which is surprising since Poke is one of my favorite songs. Basically untouchable lyrically to me. Heads Roll Off is my other favorite of Scott's and I have yet to hear a cover version I like. I think it's just too good.
Hard to cover FR/Scott, the original can not be matched - but I appreciate everyone keeping his legacy alive. Miss him every day, more so every year at this time. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Sending positive energy and love to everyone.
Yeah, I appreciated the covers and especially the respect and admiration shown for Scott through most of it. It's just tough and it honestly hurts to listen to some of the songs in general, let alone someone else playing them. I would agree that Poke is probably my favorite of theirs and it's just tough for anyone else to play it in general and it not make me clamor for Scott playing it.
I listen to Manchester Orchestra's My Backwards Walk a lot, so great. Twilight Sad's live cover of Keep Yourself Warm is pretty untouchable though
What the hell was this thread doing on the last page with STD and Alice In Chains? No no no, back to the front little guy. Miss you Scott.
for some reason, this thread bump sent me reading pages and pages back to when the news first hit of Scott’s passing. hope y’all are well and taking care of yourselves. still miss you on the regular Scott
