Yeah. I don’t know the exact formula but sometimes a movie won’t be on the schedule until right before release date. Oddly though, Friendship IS showing up for me on some new local theaters on the 23rd. I’d still hold out hope that it will pop up closer to release date.

Like Zilla said, AMC updates their showtimes on Tuesdays for the following Fri-Thurs. Bigger movies might be on there further in advance.

Watching it again tonight, this time with my wife. She lost her mind laughing at the realization that he offered to go down on his wife while in the middle of frying breakfast. Another person in the theater who had been quiet the whole time shouted ”HE SAID *HER* BETTER HALF!” and started laughing uncontrollably when Robinson asks Bianca if Austin, “your better half”, is home. Him saying that made everyone else in the theater lose it.

Biggest audience laugh this time came at Robinson’s reaction to ”Jimp”.

i thought this definitely worked on a joke/dialogue level but didn't grab me on any deeper cinematic/emotional levels. felt not far removed from an extended episode of detroiters/ITYSL but IMO it didn't necessarily need to be more than that.

You didn’t feel pathos when that fucking moron almost distracted him from his completely full coffee?

All kidding aside, on top of the theme of male loneliness, I thought it was surprisingly poignant in conveying the often absurd anxiety one can feel while trying to connect to other adults as friends.

I haven’t laughed at a movie in the theater like that since maybe “Dungeons and Dragons.” So funny.

Hahaha I think the three biggest laughs our theater had was:

    1. Afghanistan
    2. I had an orgasm. ….great!
    3. Conner wishing the financial climate was better in the ‘70s when they’re talking about his drums

This had strong “Cable Guy” vibes to it that I loved.

This is actually doing pretty well. Seems the slow rollout has helped with word of mouth

I take what I said back, the second biggest laugh was Tim’s character’s trip that ends up just being him ordering a Black Forest ham sub at Subway.

That was absolutely my biggest laugh. Just a 10/10 execution of the stupidest bit imaginable

Screenshot_20250523_183150_Chrome.jpg In the spirit of how awkward i think this movie will be, i really wanted to get these seats (in yellow)

"Welcome back, Craig" at the end of the drug trip and "this one could use a little ranch" then a smash cut to the food poisoning face in the mall were my two biggest laughs I think.

Maybe the most I’ve ever laughed at a movie? My chest hurt after. Had the effect of immediately wanting to watch it again, which is the same with every new ITYSL season that’s released.

Enjoyed this but honestly kind of wish I saw it at home? Maybe I’m a curmudgeon but some of the stuff people laughed at confused me

I want to say, if you vibe with this movie, almost every moment of this was a potential laugh line.

Honestly, I was kind of afraid I was going to feel this way as the film first started. The crowd was already giggling as the title cards were still playing, but after about 5 minutes, everyone settled in. It was just initial excitement (sold out pre release screening) but I can get what you mean if the audience is just anticipating laughs rather than organically reacting to what's playing on screen.

Did you end up going to Methuen, MA? I went there tonight and ran into a bunch of my friends also seeing it lol - great time

Yea. I lost it the whole time. There was a visual or spoken gag like every few minutes even if some were a subtle posture or facial expression.

Processing some of the story and satire but humor wise... A+
