On a recent episode of The Amazing Race, they had to navigate a long ladder up a staircase and I kept thinking, "pivot... pivot..." and then one of them actually said it and I died. The other person either didn't get it or wasn't amused.
What an epic fail to not understand the reference! If they got it they could've totally kept playing along!
I TOTALLY agree with you on the Emily wedding stuff, although I give her a pass on the honeymoon because she was in love with Ross (not thinking straight) &&&& he totally ditched her like a jack ass at the terminal. Also share your opinion on the proposal episode, even though I liked how they had Monica propose to Chandler at first... BUT I must disagree on the Ross/Rachel breakup in that they're BOTH gross AF during that entire thing & I blame the writers. I've always felt like the only real issue with Friends at all is how they mishandle the Ross/Rachel relationship entirely, from "the break" to the Joshua vs Emily stuff to the Emily wedding to the Joey/Rachel thing; it's all a huge mess! & particularly sad because the way they start their relationship on the show & how they eventually bring them together is masterful & a wave of feels. That being said it's still my all time favorite sitcom.
In the horrible episode where Joey can't speak French, nick at night cut out the part where phoebe uses the r-word to the casting director to explain what's up with joeys French. Instead she's just like yep he's my little brother and the casting guy proceeds to talk to him like he's 4. I wonder if anyone watching that ep for the first time is like wut just happened. Also the episode before where Phoebe gets married is silly cause Joey is like THERE'S A BLIZZARD and everyone acts shocked like nobody is tracking the weather the day of a wedding?! If for some reason someone wanted to read a book with all the friends plot holes and silly nonsense, I could write that!
Why didn't chandler and Rachel just order their own cheesecake? If Mrs braverman could, I'm sure they could too. #EasilyResolvableSitcomSituations Also smh I can't remember anyone's name irl but I can remember Mrs braverman off the top of my head
I was watching some older episodes from Season 2 last night. Watched the one where Ross went to the LA Zoo to find Marcel only to find out he ended up in show business. Both of the exchanges he has with zoo employees (Dan Castellaneta and Fred Willard) are still hilarious to me. "You know, there's an old saying...'sometimes, monkeys die.'" Zoo dollars?
I kinda see what you mean but how in depth can you get you really get with a character that's only in like 3 episodes?
David was only in 5 episodes and he is one of the best characters! I just found it interesting to pick up something after multiple viewings
Rewatching Friends and I tend to forget how awful Emily is, was and always will be. - Was a total mean old asshole when we first meet her - wanted to postpone the wedding after everyone is already in London as if, that's no big deal to fly back and spend money again - wants Ross to move to London and doesn't really give a shit that he can't because of HIS SON - wants Ross to stop seeing Rachel as if Emily is in fucking middle school Probably more I'm forgetting too. Writers really really really made her so super obviously awful
I am never a Ross defender but making him seem in the wrong cause he didnt wanna reschedule the wedding was ridic
Ok buuut maybe Emily had a point about Rachel considering Ross did say her name at the wedding. It was clear he still loved her. I don't blame Emily for that. Postponing the wedding and asking him to move to London was ridiculous though.
I mean I get it but it's also like if you think your fiance is still in love with someone else then maybe...don't...marry him? idk.
Fair point, but then should we really blame Emily for wanting it to work? Or Ross because he was basically lying to Emily? Basically I think they both suck.
