I always wonder how they got the crowd reaction to “start” once the camera shows Rachel and not beforehand. I imagine maybe it’s as simple as the reactions are genuine but were silenced and moved in production. And in case I wrote the above badly to make sense of what I mean let’s try this: The live studio audience can see more of the set than what we see through the episode, so when Rachel says, “I got off the plane” and the crowd celebrates, they would have already seen her standing there before she said her line. Unless they told the audience not the react until she said the line but idk if the cast/crew would spoil that for the audience beforehand.
This was my first thought the first time I watched the finale. Definitely some studio trickery, but it works for the surprise.
Being an adult is realizing that Ross's reaction to his sandwich being eaten at work is extremely reasonable and proportionate to the situation.
Wait this post just made it dawn on me that The Hills basically just rehashed the Friends finale lmao
Someone at my office stole my cake out of the break room fridge and I sent an angry email and cried lol and while my email did include a Friends reference to Ross's sandwich, his response was def better than mine
I could see how that would be hard to laugh at in the moment maybe cause they all seem sentimental about the show but that's an A+ joke
I’m sure IMDB could quickly give me the details but I imagine they went through a lot of writers, producers, etc. during the 10 years and honestly outside of Rudd’s character, who else was even around for even 20+ episodes? Richard? Monica and Ross’s parents? Janice? Gunther, but with like, 20 lines of dialogue and 5 mins of screen time total? so while being cliquey isn’t great I can see why and how it would happen. And cliquey doesn’t necessarily being mean to other folks so hopefully that wasn’t the case, but I could see them being closed off to others, especially without a lot of consistent actors on set.
This actually makes me very curious to see how many episodes other actors were in because for a show with over 220ish episodes there is not a lot of long-term characters which is interesting.
IMDB usually lists TV actors of a single show in order of number of episodes they appeared in. These are the top actors after the core 6
Holy shit this list is blowing my mind. Certainly a testament to the writing/acting as I thought the Geller’s were in so many more episodes than that. Feel like their dad has so many memorable lines and moments and in only 22 episodes is crazy. Now I’m gonna start deep diving tv shows tomorrow during work to see what other shows look like for casts and appearances.
