We deserve a thread for this iconic franchise. I'm currently rewatching Part VII and used Bias Sorter to figure out my current ranking: Friday the 13th Part II Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter Friday the 13th Freddy vs. Jason Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning Friday the 13th Part VII: New Blood Friday the 13th (2009) Friday the 13th Part 3D Jason Goes to Hell Jason X
Perfect time of the year to re-watch some of these. Here's to A24 actually making the show. Friday the 13th Part II Friday the 13th Part III Friday the 13th Friday the 13th: Final Chapter Friday the 13th Part VI Friday the 13th (2009) Freddy vs Jason Friday the 13th Part VII Friday the 13th Part V Jason X Friday the 13th Part VIII Jason Goes to Hell
Did a marathon of all of these films in Summer 2022. I'm furious that there's 12 of them, and not 13.
I saw Jason X in a theater and had a real good time doing it, but I was absolutely the only one in the room.
I'd like to see some of these in theaters, but the only films I've seen in a theater are FvJ and F13 (2009)
I should rewatch this series and attempt to rank them. I'm familiar with each film and the intricacies in broad strokes, but it's really been a long time since I've watched each one from beginning to end. That said, for any Boston area folks, the Coolidge is doing the original at midnight on 7/13, and a double feature of the Final Chapter and Jason X in the woods on 9/13. They do an F13 double feature in the woods every year it feels like, I need to get to one.
How about a final girl + Tommy ranking? Ginny (part II) Chrissy (part III) Tommy (part VI) Final girl (Jason X) Guy from supernatural (F13 2009) Psychic girl (part VII) Alice (part 1) FvJ Tommy (part IV) Part VIII JGTH Tommy (part V)
I have a fondness for VII because it was the first R-rated horror movie my brother and I finally convinced our mom to let us rent from the video store, haha.
I adored Part 3D and found Part VII to be incredibly boring on my first run through and now my opinion has flipped lol
Video update on the F13 series - Jason will be in the next season of fortnite - 2 new F13 games are being developed (1 is multiplayer, 1 is more linear gameplay) - A24 is still making the show, thinking about not focusing on Pamela in the first season anymore and going straight to Jason - Blumhouse still wants to find a way to make a F13 film
Friday the 13th (2009) is being released on 4K Blu-ray with extra bonus features. Friday the 13th (2009) Limited Edition 4K UHD
Trying to convince the Gore-Us folks to let me count In a Violent Nature as my F13 movie for today, but if not, I will likely do the remake or Jason X
Looking back, the F13 reboot really wasn’t that bad compared to some of the other reboots of that era.
