Watching this for the first time. Still on season 1 where Riggins meets the neighbor with the precocious kid. I can see where this is going. I love that the tattoo lady told Street no Chinese symbols and then gave him a Sanskrit tattoo of "peace". The Riggins x Landry team up was great, hopefully we see more of that dynamic. I didn't love Smash at first but they've really developed his character over the last few episodes. It's crazy what you can do with 22 episodes in a season.
Season One is probably the best season. That long length really lets them step away from having a game every episode and to explore characters.
On Season 2. I know it's reputation, but through episode 6 I was like this is a step down, but it's not too bad, still very watchable and entertaining. Woof, these last two have been a slog though. Even with Landry confessing, it feels like it's just been spinning its wheels. Santiago sucks. Landry not being willing to say he did what he did because he feared for Tyra's life makes no sense. I don't remember Riggins every calling Street "6" in the first season now he does it like 10 times every time they talk. I do like Saracen and Smash becoming closer. Did they just drop the Waverly storyline completely? I don't remember that resolving in the first season.
S2 is just silly and seemingly takes place in a heightened reality. It’s still occasionally “good” if you can shift your expectations. Dropped storylines are unfortunately a thing with this show, but it’s still a wonderful experience overall.
