The 4th new single "take em down." is now available everywhere, which means EP 6 is officially out as well! TAKE EM DOWN. /// i used to be shiny, now i'm rusted / can't busk, got busted / i know what you're thinking / you're thinking what i'm thinking. / it's time to take em down / fuck their rules. Fun fact about "take em down" - a few months ago, bandcamp deleted all of my bandcamp pages i had made over the years for all of my various bands i've started or been in. no warning at all, and no explanation, even after i sent them a few emails asking what happened. it stressed me out like crazy, of course. while i was dealing with the anxiety of all that over that week, i had a dream one night where i was listening to a new song of mine in a living with a bunch of friends. i woke up from that dream and still had the song in my head so i recorded myself singing and playing the part i remembered. "i used to be shiny, now i'm rusted. can't busk, got busted. i know what you're thinking. you're thinking what i'm thinking." that whole part was made up in my dream. the music, the lyrics, the melody, it's all exactly how it was in my dream... that is the first time that i can recall where something like that's happened to me so i didn't want to waste it, and i also didn't want to rush it. a few weeks ago, i finally got around to finishing it and recording it, and now i get to finally share it with everyone! anyway, i hope you like it! k bye!
Only 7 more frick. tapes are left. Each tape has EP 5 and EP 6 on them. PS: Lots of new frick. stuff in the works.
For the last frick EP, I released one new song a week for four weeks. If anyone paid attention to that, do you think that was cool or was it too much? I'm trying to decide if I want to go that route again with the next EP's release, or if I should drop the full EP at once, like I have done with most of the other ones. @Nick Jagger @jorbjorb what are your thoughts? I think you two probably pay the most attention to frick happenings on here haha.
One song per week would be sick. It would make us have something to look forward to each week. aka I'm impatient. haha.
as a listener - I want the whole thing at once. as a musician - I want to drop it 1 song at a time so people will actually hear the last track. Also for the theoretical play bump each week.
haha you dig it? i'm planning on doing a handful of frick songs like this for an ep or something just for funsies.
Ya man I totally dig this! Would be cool to have some electronic drums in there too? Not sure how you would do that.
frick. is now on the 'gram! i think i'm gonna do "frick fridays" or something where i go through each song i've released so far one by one and post about the song, maybe put up some acoustic videos, etc. i'll also post demos of new songs, maybe some random funny stuff, i dunno! is there anything you guys think would be cool to see? hit me with a follow and i'll follow you back. https://www.instagram.com/abandcalledfrick
