Having an NPC become the protagonist in a videogame movie is a pretty neat idea actually. I agree, it looks like stupid fun. I can't imagine a super compelling plot but I feel like I'll have a lot of fun watching it Ryan Reynolds is perfect for this kind of role lol. Also, I didn't realize Taika was in this so that made me really happy to see him
I was at the panel for this at NY Comic-Con. Seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Reynolds seems to have really enjoyed making it.
Reynold's seems to be really digging into the "I'm the smart guy cleverly breaking the fourth wall and also poking fun at the studios that make my movies" and it's entertaining for now but that's going to wear thin pretty quickly and especially if this turns out to be shit (and given Levy's track record, not promising). I enjoyed the Deadpool movies and this looks fun, we'll see.
I like Reynolds as a celebrity, but his whole bit has worn thin with me. I think it was after seeing him play the same character he always does in “Hobbes & Shaw” that I felt like I was done with his schtick and this does not help.
wow yeah a lot of these early reviews are pretty positive I thought this thing had potential, glad to see it seems to be solid
