Unsurprisingly, the tracks produced by Alchemist and Madlib are the best. Enjoyed the track with Pusha too. But yeah, not sure i'll be revisiting this too much. And Rogan can fuck off.
There's a good EP in here. A few really good tracks (including the Ross and Pusha songs), nothing outright bad (aside from the cameos) but a lot of stuff that falls short of his usual quality. Tana Talk 4 runs laps around this
Yea I'll agree that this is unfortunately not up to Freddie's recent prior outputs. Some decent stuff mixed in though. And Benny still a bitch for getting his crew to run up on Freddie but if Benny ever says fuck a Joe Rogan I'll give him that lmao, god fuckin damnit Freddie
Honestly I think this is really good, better than I was expecting - I like that he went for a different album experience than usual, it feels like a deliberate sequence and not (just) a bunch of rap songs. Rogan showing up is a bummer but blessedly brief. At this point I'm happy to hear him switch up his approach a bit. Also there are so many single producer style rap albums now that this sort of approach feels a bit fresher again in context maybe
Listened to this a few more times. (Great running album.) Feels like a polished major label rap album from the early 00s which is completely fine by me. the "bonus track" is one of my faves, always nice to hear Scarface
