New album out 9/30. Kinda think this song is just okay, Album art is terrible and I can't find an HQ-enough file to post lol.
Kinda iffy on new Freddie. He’s been a tool for a while now and the discussion got brought up again in the hip hop(about a year ago maybe?)thread about his allegations. I know the case was dismissed or charges were dropped but multiple people in the thread pointed out at the very least someone in his crew had sex with an underage girl.
I feel like Euro anti-black institutional racism is a thing so I'm willing to give him the benefit of some doubt on that one until/unless something else surfaces tbh, it's been years.
I really want this album to be amazing but he hasn't dropped a song that's really clicked for me since Alfredo. I think I just like him over the Madlib/Alchemist type production a lot more but I'm still going into this with high hopes
yeah austria is one of the most racist places on the planet. this article is worth reading. people can take from it what they will, but its pretty clear to me freddie not only didnt do anything wrong but went through an extremely traumatizing experience because of it. Freddie Gibbs Finally Tells the Story About His Fight for Freedom - XXL.
looks like the moneybagg yo song is the only one of the previously released songs on this? interesting. ice cream was great, as was gang signs, but all fresh shit is welcome too.
Think I prefer Freddie & You Only Live 2wice over Shadow of a Doubt. It’s been a long time since I listened to it though and I expect this new one to be more like that.
I think it speaks to how versatile he is, sounds just as home over boom bap as he does more modern styles
Both tracks have been kind eh so far. That combined with the list of features isn't filling me with too much hope for this.
"Lobster Omelette" and "Space Rabbit" is a nice little pocket, and I didn't mind "Zipper Bagz," but yeah, halfway in this is mid so far edit: Jeff Ross ruined "Space Rabbit" lol
