Hell yeah! I haven’t loved anything since Positive Songs, and I’ve genuinely hated BMK & whatever the historical Wikipedia album was, but FTHC was okay and definitely a vast improvement over the previous two.
yeah for me, FTHC was as close to a 'return to form' as we've had since Positive Songs and i can only hope this album improves on that.
I absolutely love FTHC and still listen to it all the time and I'm super excited to hear whatever they're cooking up next.
I'll forever die on the hill that BMK is actually good if you resequence it and cut the worst tracks (MAGA, LC, and GN, particularly), but I am hoping this continues on the track that FTHC was on. It was good but had some clunky verses, choruses, and lyrics spread throughout.
Ill never fault anyone for liking what they like thats all well and fine but if you have to cut songs and resequence an album to make it good maybe its just not a good album lol
Any chance you'd be willing to share what your edited & resequenced version of the album looks like please...?
1. Get it Right 2. Don't Worry 3. Blackout 4. Brave Face 5. Be More Kind 6. 21st Century Survival Blues 7. 1933 8. Common Ground 9. The Lifeboat 10. There She is Well, I'll agree that it's not good as released but with the changes I made I quite like listening to it, so I think many of the songs hold up.
Thanks. I played around with this for a few years and never really cracked it, although I do agree that there are some good songs here.
The one issue I could never overcome was the slow start to the album, but that's because I cut a lot of the (not great) upbeat songs and wanted to keep Don't Worry and Get it Right. I think the album's flow and pacing from Brave Face to the end is really great though. Just gave it another listen and I still really like this sequencing. And I like every song on it!
edit: not sure if the whole thing loaded, chorus hates instagram imbeds, new album recording is apparently underway.
You can see the board in the back of one picture with all of the song titles. Looks like the album will be called “Undefeated.”
He played two new tracks at Lost Evenings. One acoustic song about his wife and one upbeat rock song. Both sounded great! album in spring of next year
New album announced and a new song released. I liked the last album and think it's the best thing he's done in years, but this new song is bad in my opinion. Cringeworthy.
