Agreed. Sort of wish I hadn't looked it up now I know it's a simile about getting fabric stuck up your ass.

I'm coming around to the new album and finding little things to enjoy in it, but goddamn I cannot stand Little Changes

Little Changes is okay in my opinion, it's MAGA that I hate.

I'm kinda torn on MAGA, because it's very catchy, but I would never sing it out loud.

Even my dad texted me after seeing the track listing, asking if Frank Turner was a Trump supporter

Little Changes gets stuck in my head and the video is goofy but decent.

MAGA is OK. The message is great but lyrically it just seems so half hearted. Never really delves into anything.

For me, nearly ALL his albums are a little hit or miss and each has great songs and mediocre..........TDH is the closest to a full, great album

I don't know, I've heard it before in a kind. Still doesn't make it a good lyric.

"raining cats and dogs" is a frequent expression but Soupy ain't singing "it's raining cats and dogs in Kyoto."

Joking aside the lyric is just a little goofy and caught me off guard. Someone of his caliber has used cheeky lyrics before but made it work. As is, "we used to fit like mittens, but never like gloves" is so simple but it works in that song.

I cringe every time I hear the swimwear line.

Love Mittens though. Works well on that song. Had to explain to my girlfriend what it meant as she was saying it doesn't make sense. I think she must have had a pair of ill-fitting mittens when young.

Truly don't understand why that line stands out to anyone at all as like... bad, or really anything. "I'll be in there like swimwear, I'm going nowhere" couples together really nicely, the only part of the song that seems worthwhile to me honestly ha

i don't think anyone cares about the poppier direction or positive message, the issue is the songwriting is bad

This comic is kinda ridiculous. There's absolutely no data that would show this is going to be his "largest success story stateside" first off. Second off, he really hasn't changed anything drastically about his music... these songs just simply aren't as interesting or engaging as his past material for the most part

Back half of this is really strong. Would've probably been an outstanding EP. The middle part I struggle with the most.

Mittens toes the line of cheeky and fun while making it serious and emotion so well. Mittens does what Be More Kind tries to do on like most of its tracks (especially the swimwear line) and Be More Kind just can’t pull it off. It sound like he’s explaining something to a five year old

He was tweeting a lot about the album earlier today which was quite interesting. Very much an album where the Souls were involved lots in the writing. Assume this is the same with all the last albums as well?

I actually quite like a lot of the synthy sounds on this album. For once on a Frank Turner album it is the lyrics which let it down for me.

I asked him about the writing process once.

I believe Poetry is him and the band sharing writing, whilst EKMB is more him taking the lead. TDH was half him and half all round contribution, and then the last one was everyone writing again.
