Endless is the dream counterpart to the nightmare Earl Sweatshirt embodied on I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside.

So much to take in in the past two days but I might actually like Endless more than Blonde right now. Blonde is a beautiful record but it's not something I see myself going back to constantly like I do with Channel Orange, though I know it's not necessarily supposed to be that way. That said, I definitely think the first half of Blonde is noticeably better than the second half.

This definitely seems like a grower

I feel like the serious lyrics in the first half of it would have hit me harder delivered in his actual voice. Just me though

also a few parts where I don't think it's frank

the second chorus of Self Control and the beginning of the second pat of Nights doesn't sound like frank

I'm still processing both. Have wanted to go back to both, so always a good sign.

Remember when it was rumoured that Boys Don't Cry was gonna be a rap album? WHERE'S THAT, FRANK?

I really enjoy Blonde and I think it'll more than likely make it into my top 10 for this year. My only criticisms are that the album loses steam somewhere around the middle section (before picking up again in the last few tracks) and I think the interludes worked much better on Channel Orange. Overall though, this is an awesome album. I appreciate that Frank came back with an entirely different sound than what was expected and I'm guessing his next album will be something completely fresh as well. I love artists that constantly push themselves so that's okay with me.

However, for me, it doesn't touch Channel Orange. That's one of my favourite albums ever and is responsible for getting me into r&b in the first place so I guess it was pretty much an impossible task for him to come back and somehow top it. I'm just happy to have more music from Frank though and I hope we don't have to wait another 4 years for the next one, ha.

I'm starting to appreciate this for what it is, and not what I wanted it to be.

Should probably mention that although the tracklisting for the physical version is listed as different in the magazine, the actual content on the disc is almost exactly the same with the only difference being the extended "Nikes" with KOHH, the two tracks listed on the physical tracklist that aren't on the digital only appear in the form of lyrics in the magazine.

Love this, only on two listens still. Nights is an early favorite.

I played this record for my family and they all thought that every song sounded the same.

As a fan of the album, I defended it, but the truth is that Frank does write A LOT of mid-tempo songs. Pretty much every song on here. I'd like to hear what would happen if he switched things up a bit. Obviously not complaining cus the album is beautiful, but just curious...

I feel like some people in this thread would be like "Why is Rocket to Russia all 3 minute punk songs? Does Al Green do anything other than sexy-as-fuck soul music on Call Me? Y'know All Eyez On Me is great, but does he do anything other than rap on every song?"

    Love y'all, but come on.

There's a difference between writing within the same genre and writing more dynamically.
