Maybe being a dick is harsh but this has dragged on entirely too long

I'm tuning out of this cycle until the album is out

 

you don't have a right to listen to his new music, if he wanted he could just live off the Channel Orange royalties and only make music for himself that would be perfectly okay.

releasing music is a extremely emotional process for some, it can be sharing a part of you you've never shown anyone, and if it doesn't feel right you shouldn't have to feel obligated to release it because people want to hear it. sometimes you will set a deadline or release date and it feels ready at the time but when you arrive closer to that date you really begin to question it deeper than you considered.

like it might be frustrating for us as fans to feel teased but I don't think think that makes him a dick and don't think it's really intentional teasing and that this project means a lot to Frank so all I am is excited to hear it when he finally feels it's ready

 

i'm incredibly frustrated cuz i want this album, but i'm understandably patient for some of the reasons listed above^^
esp since he hasn't made any explicit promises as to the albums release. that library due date card was the closest thing to him teasing a "release date" but even that wasn't Frank saying "this is when the album is coming out."
so like, i can't really be pissed like "he said the album would come out right now!" or anything. you know, kinda like the TLOP rollout.

Right, but Frank and Kanye are very obviously different people with different lives, public personas, honestly no similarity

It wasn't even a live stream, as was pointed out, it was recorded over the last year.

 

My theory is that he's just a very emotional guy, and he genuinely planned on releasing it last Friday, but freaked out and pulled the plug at the last minute to make more changes to the album. As pissed as everyone is, we'll all forget about it whenever we actually have the album.

Blaming frank for being a reclusive person who keeps a very minimal social media present is whack af

 

the good thing about him being inactive online is that the frank oocean twitter account isnt popular anymore

 

he was going to release the album, but it wasn't finished.

 

I think if he had just been off the grid this whole time people wouldn't be upset. It's just hard to take the library card and stream as anything but ways to build the hype. Then for it to have led to nothing (so far) it's just hard to understand. It is what it is I guess. If the album comes out I'll listen like everyone else and hope it lives up

Yeah... yesterday was the last day I had any expectation of something happening. Just ignoring this ish until I see on the main page news about the release. Frank's a heartless troll
