This is so exciting. Please no Gonzo part 2 though. What is the backstory on Gonzo and the breakup? I always assumed Nally wanted to get weird, it failed, and the other guys wanted to stick with the previous sound of Self-Titled and Welcome to the Church so they broke up?? Is that accurate, do we know? I need that beautiful voice of that crazy bastard singing big Queen-like choruses.
I remember them all being proud and happy with the Gonzo sound, but I think the backlash and burn out from 10+ years of touring is what it boiled down to. Actually I even talked to Alex a week before they broke up and he told me they were working on new music and it was even weirder than Gonzo.
Also, 'Gonzo' is dope. It functions on a different level than the rest of the discography, sure, but isn't the the appeal of Foxy?
So are we going back to more funk inspired Foxy or stadium rock Foxy? Both could work in this marketplace tbh
Could you imagine if after all this time apart, they come back together for... More Gonzo-style? Would be such an extreme disappointment. Just give me something CRAZY
Gonzo fucking rocks and it would be awesome to get more in that style, but that's definitely not what they're going to do.
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the self-titled record. The intro is just so absurd and awesome.
I'm just not sure Nally wants to make that kind of music anymore. Gonzo and then his awful solo songs........we'll see what happens here and I'm hopeful, but all the signs are there for it NOT be stadium rock
i could see it going a more pop direction, but either way i hope it's on the upbeat side, as long as it has some good energy i'm down for whatever genre. i'm pretty sure eric wrote a ton of solo songs that probably will end up being foxy songs instead considering his album never came out!
