I mean, it doesn't matter to me. I think their post-reunion material is some of the best stuff they've ever done. But I've been at odds with the general perception of this band since Gonzo.
This new song is… tolerable? Hmm Edit: Foxy Shazam is listed as the producer on Spotify. I’m really confused by how clean this sounds compared to anything they’ve released over the last decade…
James Saez is listed as a producer so it seems like they went to a an actual studio for this one production isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely a step up and the song itself is good
This new song is tied for my favorite post hiatus song with “Dancing With my Demons” that songs super fun
Listening the latest album again. "Pink Sky" kinda epitomizes why the band's production choices suck. It's a good song, it's upbeat and catchy, it's fun, and the chorus SHOULD should huge. You can absolutely tell it world probably go wild live.... but on record it's muted, boring, no energy, you want to get pumped but it just falls so flat
I think I said it after the last album, but I would kill for them to get a good producer on board and just go HUGE on the best tracks from the post-hiatus albums, like a greatest hits re-recorded kinda thing
But why clockwise? You’d still have the original recordings and we’d have listenable versions. Everyone would be happy!
When you were at the MCR concert, did you purposely get the worst seat in the venue, wear shitty headphones and ask your neighbor to talk into your ear so you could listen to it the way you prefer?
I want to listen to music the way the artist intends it to be listened to. I enjoy a lot of super clean, professional sounding records. I also enjoy a lot of scuzzy and fucked up sounding records. I'd rather them keep it moving and focus on making records the way they want to, shitty sounding or not!
It’s a wish, a mere suggestion. Nobody is forcing the band to do this. If they did, it would be the band making a record the way they want to.
Sure I guess. I'm just much more interested in them keeping it in motion and putting out new things at the pace they have been. Obviously it's not for everybody and that's okay.
The new song is solid. They had lost me at the last album.........so I went back today and tried it again. It's so much worse even than I remembered.
