I can appreciate the band doing something new but I only last for a few songs before putting something else on.
I feel like the last 2 albums have some listenable songs, but it just pales in comparison overall to the Self-Titled and Church, which are monsters
Introducing is their best for me and I'd love them to make more music like that lol. The energy and vocal performance on that album is so sick.
I haven’t spent quite enough time with this album yet, but it feels like something special to me and I hope people give it a fair chance.
This album has no business being 54 minutes long, but there's some great tunes in here! Man In Bloom and No Bravado stood out to me most on first listen. Also, I love the S/T reference on the album cover.
I will say, I went into this with extreme skepticism, which you can see from my earlier comments… but so far it’s definitely the best of their post-reunion work for me. Still not like their old stuff obviously, but for me this is capturing more what they’re going for at least.
Yeah this is overlong for sure and not everything works, but there’s definitely some strong standouts for me. Overall a step in the right direction.
This feels like they purposefully and meticulously crafted a double album that's just not to everyone's tastes or something
If you simply cannot make it through the whole album for some reason, songs I think the trad audience might like are as follows... Best Days I Can Change For You Man in Bloom No Bravado The Forbidden Kind But I really think it's an album that should be listened to in full.
Got tix to Macklemore as part of my 40th (also seeing DCFC/PS same weekend) and hoping Foxy opens or Eric is there
this new album is pretty terrible, and it's actually not a problem with production this time. The songs just... are bad. I'm not sure what the band is going for here, but it definitely doesn't get there
Has the band done any interviews that might explain what they’re going for? This album is really rough, despite what clockwise says lol. I’m really thinking they thrived with help from a producer.
I actually did a few searches when the album dropped Friday. I thought maybe there would be an interview, some local piece about them releasing the album, anything! No luck.
Band just doing what they want haha. I may not like it but I respect their freedom to make and release the music they feel good about.
I sure wish they could do a new album with some money behind them for a top notch producer like they had on Self Titled and Welcome To the Church. That is the Foxy I love
Didn’t John Feldmann say they were super stubborn? About how they were the best band to never make it, and all because they wouldn’t listen to advice.
