To be fair the production on this track is very different than the last two albums. It sounds purposefully abrasive and strange. Of course I love it, it's fuckin wild.
This isn't doing it for me. I love their self-titled album. I have such a soft spot for Church. It feels like those albums are the exception anymore. I'd still go see them live anytime of course.
Yeah, I honestly have given up hope that they will ever release an album as strong as their S/T or even Introducing.. At this point, I would be stoked just to hear an album that I enjoy about half of. That’s how low the bar has been lol
I'm here for their journey. It just doesn't seem like they're all that interested in returning to that sound or level of fidelity. But my favorite Foxy album is Gonzo, so what do I know.
This is not a criticism of you, but an observation, and it's my observation that you seem to be the outlier in every music thread that I find your posts in. It's uncanny.
Still very skeptical if this is good lol, will give it a try later. Please let the production not totally suck this time.
It's about the same as as the last two albums. They're trying a lot of new things here, which I can appreciate. The production and songwriting continues to fall short imo. It's wild to me that this is the same band that wrote a song like Oh Lord. At this point, it wouldn't be hard to convince me that John Feldmann wrote half of their self-titled album, and Justin Hawkins wrote most of Church.
Maybe Foxy is a band that needs a great producer and we didn’t realize it until they released three mediocre albums in a row lol
I'm digging it, yeah, but it sound nothing like either of those albums. I'm only a third of the way through, but it's much more atmospheric.
