I'm still kind of in disbelief at how good they were last week. Like, they could have easily phoned it in, but they just ripped through 19 songs like it was nothing. Any other band would have played it safe and not played any Flamingo or deep early cuts (Ghost Animals was a pleasant surprise), it was just so refreshing.
Went to the Boston show too and honestly if I could I’d make the trek out to Pennsylvania on Friday. They’re so damn good. It was so awesome to show bring my girlfriend and watch her mind get blown over and over again haha.
No but seriously - this is the prime example of when a comeback goes horribly wrong. Some of the songs here are fine I suppose, even though none get even mildly close to reaching the level of creativity/passion/ambition that the S/T has, but every song here suffers greatly… because the production is HOT GARBAGE. Who is recording this? Fire them immediately. Any excitement I should feel quickly disappears because how dull this shit sounds.
It’s super sad because one of my favorite parts of foxy is their energy and the lack of production is preventing it from shining through.
Big time. I mean the songs are… half baked at best… but they would be so much better with proper production like the S/T.
Uh, another new album? Looks like almost 20 tracks??? https://www.foxyshazam.com/limousin...U9JuMLAxYBrLik2kK5zQlw13rbCpC2mHWGdi6hyyzTUBg
These guys are pumping out new releases too quickly imo... unless the production is much better this time around I'm not overly interested.
Nah, fuck that. The more Foxy the better imo. But speaking of production, I'm pretty sure some of this was recorded in LA so it might be a bit more hi-fi? Either way I'm stoked.
I’m team make better music over making more music because what they’ve released since their reunion ain’t it
That's just a thing you've made up in your head lol, music isn't always better just because more time is spent on it.
Didn’t like Burn much, but I thought the last album had some great songs that were drowned out by not so great production or mixing. More Foxy is wanted
That’s true but it’s worth a shot because the two records they’ve released recently have both been forgettable as hell. The production is the biggest culprit but the songs themselves have been mostly underwhelming to me. That’s also not a thing I made up and go read the responses they’ve received on this very site. It’s mixed at best unless you wanna make the argument we’re all pretending it’s bad which if so.. lol
Oh no, I'm not saying that you made up the negative response to the albums. I'm saying you made up the idea that if they waited longer to put out an album that it would be better. I understand your thinking behind that, but it really has nothing to do with the quality. It took them 7 years to release Burn, lol. And they actually were working on it off and on for years. So the idea that time spent=quality is really just an oft repeated myth.
Echoing the comments about production/mix issues. I absolutely love FS but haven’t listened to their last two records much due to that. It’s difficult because I’m sure the songs would’ve shined more with better production…and the songs haven’t been…what I feel they’re capable of.
