Song is fucking cool, but what the hell is the band's issue with good production anymore?? This song deserves to sound huge like Introducing and Church, but instead the energy is all buried deep in a terrible mix... Just very frustrating
Yeah I have the same thoughts, the last album was the same way. Really liked about half of that album but I miss the MASSIVE production, that is how this band needs to sound
Yeah imagine if this song was produced by Feldman.. infinitely better. I’m not a huge Feldman fan normally but his work on S/T is peak Foxy. I imagine the poor production is due to their budget constraints since they’re independent. Regardless, between this, that terrible last album, and fucking Gonzo lol - they haven’t had a great sound in a decade. It’s a bummer.
I don't mind the home-cooked production of Burn, but I do feel that if it had been produced by Feldman or Cavallo people would have been more into it. There are some anthems on that record that did warrant bigger production. But what do I know, Gonzo is one of my favorite albums ever.
It was cool, if surprising, to hear "Welcome To the Church of Rock n Roll" in an episode of Peacemaker.
I don't know. I feel like budget shouldn't be the excuse in 2022. You might have to be a bit resourceful and spend more time looking for some talent for a quality mix, but I've heard plenty of amateur artists with better sounding mixes. Foxy has been around long enough to have some connections and/or experience to put together a better sound if they wanted it.
I’ve been watching all the videos I can find. So great to see them back on stage. Can’t wait to see them in a week!!!!
Forgot this album comes out tomorrow! Also Eric ate 5 cigarettes on stage yesterday from what I've heard. FOXY IS BACK
Same, I'm so excited for NYC and I'm thrilled with last night's setlist -- a little bit of everything but heavy on the first three.
I need to track down The Flamingo Trigger. Haven’t heard it in like 15 years. Foxy Shazam Setlist at The Andrew J. Brady ICON Music Center, Cincinnati
I just remember people talking about Eric Nally and Jason Aalon Butler being the best frontmen in the underground at the same time both have found success which I’m happy about
At its core, this album has so much going for it. I just cannot get past this muddy mix. I'm trying so hard. 'Introducing' even sounds crisp in comparison. I just don't get it. Love Like This is a phenomenal closer too. UGH!
Haven’t listened yet, but this is disappointing to hear. The past 3 records now have had horrible mixes. At this point, you have to assume it’s a conscious choice.
Like Burn, the mix doesn't bother me. The songs are there, I love how focused and cohesive this record is. Something about it reminds me of Introducing.
