i can't imagine it being announced until this tour is over, always weird to announce something new mid tour. just so odd to me that they've been playing songs for so long from this and haven't done anything with it
i can see them holding out till an October release for no other reason than their music isnt very summery and fits more the fall vibes
They played 3 new songs the other night. 1 was Slaptick, the one they played on the ManOrch tour. The other 2 were the heaviest Foxing has ever sounded. I think we’re in for a weird record. Weird in a good way, of course.
It’s up there for me, especially after seeing that video. I honestly have no idea if they’ve even completely wrapped the record on their end tho. Felt like they were still adding finishing touches last update I remember. Hoping for another fall record tbh.
I have three free tickets to the sac show tomorrow night FYI. Can’t refund them...//so pissed I can’t go
Don’t like this band, but I caught them on the Circa show in Milwaukee on Saturday and one of the new songs was pretty cool and definitely didn’t come off as generic white boy whining.
Isn’t that still essentially half of their catalog? I just can’t get past the cigarettes and whiskey line in the medic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ CHANGE MY MIND. Anyway, the new jam sounded really good and gave me a reason to invest more interest in this band. Also it was a nice surprise seeing how spot on Conor’s vocals are in a live setting.
again, that's their first record. i don't know a single song on dealer that fits that category at all
i have a few fans who call a lot of music i like "whiney" but love dealer. Hate the albatross. So maybe you'd fit that bill. (Dealer and Albatross rule)
the albatross rules but the lyrical complaint is valid. knowing Rory and the medic are at least partially about infidelity makes me not mind it but obviously it's difficult to get that without having read the discussion Josh had about it
the hammer-on/pull-off section on Inuit still makes me feel a certain way Albatross has a very unique atmosphere but is lacking on the songwriting department (and yes it is melodramatic and takes itself too seriously) - I still like it tho
Don’t get me wrong. I’d be a huge hypocrite if I said I didn’t love any whiney music. I think that it is the tone of the music in combination with the lyricism that makes it a dealbreaker.
If you haven't listened to Dealer, really give it a fair chance. Particularly songs like Night Channels, Indica, Eiffel, and Laundered.
