The end of Grand Paradise is still my favorite single musical moment of the year. Whole album is so good, but I actually repeat that section on its own, like, three times when I listen. It’s actually weird.

I tend to latch on to little phrases and moments. Like I always rewind the part in Lich Prince where he says, “I was drowned out. I was worthless.” It just sounds good and for some reason reminds me of what it was like to be 15 and discovering music. Same with the part in Five Cups when he says, “Before I suck up the bath.” It’s like an ear hole massage

 

I may have mentioned it here before but want to say it again for those who missed it. I don’t recommend following the # foxing on instagram.

I didn't love this overall on first listen, but I am really surprised that heartbeats is so divisive. easily one of my favorites. Lambert is a great closer too

I think heartbeats is one of, if not the most, accessible song on the record which is why the division is so surprising to me. I guess some people don’t like that but nobody’s suggested as much.

 

Man this album is nuts. Very pop-based songwriting without being pop at all, the hooks are like 3 listens deep, and different songs catch my attention each time. Really loved Grand Paradise and Bastardizer tonight
