i just flew from lambert to philly international and listened to lambert like 20 times in the airport and on the plane
This album is like Gohan. It starts off weak, but when it gets going it has the power of a super Saiyan. I like it.
Total Eclipse of the Heart is the greatest song ever. Grand Paradise can tied for 3rd along with every other song on this album.
I hope the other hundreds of bands making the same record every 2 years like clockwork just listen to this and go “of fuck, you can actually switch things up and people will like it” and throw whatever boring album they’re currently working on in the garbage.
I should really give this album another shot. When it came out the only song I liked was Nearer My God
I know we're in a forum thread specifically for this album, so opinions will be biased, but honestly this is my favorite record so far this year and I had not expected it at all. I was only moderately interested in it when it came out.
I was anticipating it, and I do love it, it just wasn't an absolute classic to me like it seems to be for a lot of people. First half is all bangers though. Trapped In Dillards, Bastardizer, and Crown Candy still haven't really clicked with me.
That was the song that grabbed me and is still my fave. I feel like it rly feeds my 20s angst and depression in a way songs used to hit me in my teens. Like I remember being a kid and feeling like so many songs were anthems to my youth and I don't feel that way about songs as much anymore but Nearer My God just fills that void so I scream along to it in the car like 40x on repeat
