Albums this good don’t often have another album that can rival its goodness dropped 7 days later *cough* Mitski *cough*

 

Been listening to this a lot. Very, very good

 

untitled has made me come back to this a lot less than i was planning. But Won’t Drown is still amazing

 

Enjoying this more and more - Drove back from a Phoebe Bridgers gig tonight and got to listen to it all in one sitting on full blast

Noticed a couple more little influences dotted through (to go with all of the Coldplay

The 'There's no more sun, and no more light shine through' on Slapstick sounds like prime Nada Surf to me - and the whole of Gameshark reminds me of a slightly less unhinged Blood Brothers (Burn, Piano Island era)

 

The second half of Five Cups sorta reminds me of the Song of Healing in reverse

 

This and the new All Get Out album are leading the way for AOTY for me.

 

I thought this but thought it too obscure to say. Apparently not! Haha.

Just got through another spin of the vinyl, I just love the way it sounds on there. Absolutely stunning.

 

Nearer my god to teebs.

 

My vinyl is sitting at home. Got everything wired and set up over the weekend in my new house.

My plan was to have it ready before Thrice, but having this coming lit a fire under me.

 

Won't Drown reminds me a bit of Local Natives. Got to do a long drive this weekend and kept this thing on repeat.

 

Listened for the first time today. There's so many good things about this album. Lot of band comparisons that make sense to me... especially Radiohead 'Hail to the Thief' on a lot of songs and MuteMath too.

 

I haven’t read through this thread but does this mean I’m not the only one who hears the “I will eat you alive” melody from Where You End And I Begin at the end of Bastardizer?

 

Reading the last page or so I’ve seen Bastardizer compared to a lot of things. Honestly, most of it has a groove that reminds of an 80’s bop. Then the last minute or so sort of gives off a Dashboard vibe or something like that.

Five Cups, Lich Prince, and Bastardizer are standout tracks for me

 

Nobody tell him. He has to do his reading assignment on his own.

there have been Radiohead connections made, but not on the microscopic level of comparing melodies...moreso sonically and in the use of multiple layers and textures nobody will help you here

That's the model I have right now. It's okay. I think I want to get a U-Turn

 

Mine is a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon that a friend got me a really good deal on. They usually run $400 or more, but I got mine for like $200. Would have gone with U-Turn or the LP120 if my friend hadn’t come through for me on it.
