I think the 2nd half of this album is better than the first

Only underwhelmed by me not emotionally connecting to it as much as I was hoping

Doesn’t take away from the fact that I think the music is incredible and daring

 

After two listens I’m just so happy with this.

Glad Lich Prince studio version came out so nice too. That was the song I was most intrigued by when I saw them.

 

I dont think I ever said I didn’t did I? Lol

 

You think it’s too hyped. Any thoughts of this not being amazing means you hate it

As someone who was a day 1 fan of this band but never loved them the way others did, this record just completely blew my mind. I like The Albatross, I think Dealer has some incredible moments, but this record is where imo, they’ve finally come into their own. Not enough bands these days swing for the fences, most are ok with being merely good. On this record you can feel and hear Foxing trying to floor you. On first listen it felt like I was listening to a new classic. I love that.

 

Lambert already means a whole lot to me, makes me tear up everytime. I'm not exactly sure what he's talking about yet, but I travel all the time for work and being in airports and hotels constantly was a huge cause of my spiraling depression last year. When the song speeds up it just feels so euphoric and makes me think about how I'm getting out this career and moving on to something better.

Its the best song this band has ever written, the best song I've heard all year, etc etc etc DONT @ ME.

Lambert sounds like Foxing channeling (good) U2 and I’m all about it.

 

Also sounds like a lot of National influence

 

You can just hear how hard they worked on this album. Listening to this there is a tangible sense of a band pouring everything they have into a release.

 

So far, I’m into it. Have only made it as far as Five Cups. Looking forward to hearing the rest. Really impressed with the overall sound and performances, as well as with the production.

 

How has the reception been elsewhere? I saw Sputnik review with a 5/5

 

It actually racks my brain that someone could hear Grand Paradise and me like nah I’m good lol

 

Anyone else hear astronautalis influence on grand paradise? Big if true

This is almost too dense

 

This is Foxing's vheissu; condensing all that was good about their traditional sound while taking huge risks boldly, and the payoff is their best album yet. Can't wait to see where this takes them

I’m on my 5th listen and I’m surprised by something on every song, not so much a complaint but it’s going to take a lot of time to appreciate all the intricacies on here
