Yeah his voice on this is one of the reasons I'm not as into it as their past stuff. Thought he nailed Dealer and it suited his voice. also this, great song but too long and they pay off doesn't justify it.
The run of Trapped in Dillards to Crown Candy isn't as exciting to me as the rest, but those will probably grow on me.
I think that's the sticking point for me at the moment. It is a bit grating in places. It's a shame because the first single was incredible.
Formatting is coming out all fucked when I paste in from the lyrics document but I've started putting these up over here
Good news is I’m headed on a road trip today. Bad news is that the other two people in the car will NOT be down with this lol Catch me alone and probably drunk on the beach with this later tonight though
This album walks so many lines that if they'd done things even slightly differently on a lot of it the songs might've come out terribly. The risks they took have such a huge payoff
Yeah he helped put this record together, toured with them early in 2017 when they were premiering some new shit, got the album finished and left in December. Delay in getting it out probably had to do with him leaving and the band needed to figure out how they'd approach it live first, especially because they booked a tour around its release.
Yes it was. Opening two and closing two songs stand with Foxing's best for me, and the rest is still okay to great
