I was outside weeding and the USPS truck pulled up right next to me and i got so excited because i knew what it had to be
My record has been in transit for days no updates.. if USps lost this thing there will be hell to pay
So this listen was kind of passive. Second listen started while on a walk during my lunch break and got through the title track and it clicked a lot better. Every song was incredible. I can't remember the last time a band made a mellow album like Dealer and came out swinging on the next album like this. Fantastic. EDIT: "I wanna dreaaaaammmmmm" is auditory bliss.
The best vocalist in the “scene” right now for me. He uses a ton of different voices throughout the record I’d recommend at least sticking with it for one full listen.
Am I the only one who gets “Tidal Wave” vibes (the album) from “won’t drown”? Mostly the chorus and in the vocals
As expected, the vocals are definitely the one part I’m struggling with a bit. I liked the vocal performances on Dealer a lot, but I do find them sometimes a little grating here. It hasn’t kept me from listening to the album so far and I’m sure it’ll grow on me somewhat over time, but it bums me out that that could be a barrier to this album being something really special for me, since the compositions themselves and production are so undeniably impressive.
the amount of times I've tried to imitate the "DO YOU WANT ME? DO YOU WANT ME AT ALLLL" on the title track is probably unhealthy
It's grown on me a lot, especially the... prechorus? The part where he's singing "It's in the twelve steps Against a death threat It's like a seat belt Against a hurricane You're in the first class Against a tailspin With the dizygotic twin of god in the cockpit"
