I remember I was able to grab full downloads of the intro, the 2 interludes, and Fear of Good from that site. I had a playlist of those, plus Goodness pt. 1, Piano Player, Soft Animal, and the original Settle the Scar that I played over and over.
Sort of wanted my first listen to be on vinyl.. so I may hold off.. also arnt npr streams bad quality?
There's something so riveting about bands within this scene crafting albums that put everyone else on hold.
To this day dealer is still growing on me. I still play it all the time. If this albums at that level I could see this band pushing into my top tier.
there’s good bands and then there’s the crazy good bands we got / are getting a few records from top tier bands this year
Still think Eiffel is my favorite song of theirs. But I expect something off this album will usurp it. Eiffel fucking rips live doh
It took me months and months to get into Dealer. It just didn’t click with me (some songs still don’t). But this instantly clicked.
Much of this album sounds like a direct response to Anthony Ronald McDonald's criticisms of the instrumentation and vocals on Dealer.
Also, I'm dying that "Ronald McDonald" was automatically corrected to "Ronald McDonald." I'm definitely new here.
Well, I definitely missed those criticisms since I don't watch Ronald's stuff, but I was way more into the vocal style on Dealer than what I'm hearing from these new songs. That's the main reason I'm not extremely hyped for this based on what I've heard.
The vocals on dealer are great, my guess is the new one will be a little less reserved from what I’ve heard. Connor is an incredible vocalist though so I’m not too worried
Oh, he’s certainly got the ability. I’m questioning whether his vocals on the new record are going to be my cup of tea, as I really enjoyed his more reserved, often lower register vocals on Dealer. I’ll reserve judgment until I actually hear the album though.
