The new song's melody sounds a little too much like "Won't Drown" but it's otherwise fantastic. I'm really feeling the TV On The Radio influence with that falsetto and I love when they incorporate that reference point in particular (the other example being "Grand Paradise") what's the line that's like "freedom at the price of the desperate"? They're a rare band where I actively look forward to their political songs and I'm glad this one follows suit!
I love when you find an album at seemingly the perfect time in your life. This album is definitely one of those albums for me. To think I just randomly remembered this band one night and decided to listen to it and now I’m fucking obsessed with it. I honestly can’t remember the last time an entire album hit me in the feel goods like this one has. Maybe Glass Animals in 2016...? Otherwise probably when Trouble Will Find Me in 2013? For me it’s super rare when I instantly connect with something - and the entire album especially - but i found it here and goddamn it’s awesome and I’m glad I did.
I’ve decided to enter 2020 while going for a run and have also decided hat this album will be shat I’m listening to as the clock strikes midnight. Debating between the title track and “Lich Prince” as for what song specifically I want to be listening to.
Colin's "Five Cups" remix is cool as fuck, and we're now one step closer to my ultimate dream of Conor and Anthony Green being on the same song. make it happen
