I got a ticket for the show tomorrow and am very excited! (and sad it’s the last time I will ever see them live)
Best show tonight. They were firing on all cylinders and the set tonight was almost perfect for my taste. I hope they don’t take too long to come back.
Shocking they’ve never played trapped in dillards. One of my favorites from them. That bottom third of the setlist is a total assault on the audience emotionally. My buddy was there and said it was an unreal performance.
Yeah the set went from "celebratory, but sad" to me openly weaping to Nearer My God. It's weird, they were pretty clear this is just a break and not the end, but emotions were still very high, you can tell they're just exhausted.
I thought I wouldn't get emotional til the Saturday show in St Louis but all it took was that first speech from Conor last night and I was a goner.
Conor for a quick 10 minute interview. Sounds like a much needed break. Interviewer: Last set ever. Conor: No no no. I: Last set ever for now. C: Well we're playing shows in December and we're taking a big Foxing break. We're all doing other stuff. We've been doing it 12 years and never took a break. Last year around Christmas time we were all sitting in a room together and we're all like, "We should take a break." Also says that he and wife want to have kids.
Absolutely incredible last night. I hadn’t seen them since 2014. They were already great back then but leveled up 10x in the time since.
In 2014 I went to see the band who will not be named with no knowledge of who the openers were. The lights went down and then My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion started playing while the opener took the stage. That was my introduction to Foxing. I remember thinking "ok this is pretty funny" and then they proceeded to blow my mind for their entire set. Last night in Chicago the lights go down and once again the majestic sounds of Celine filled the venue and I could not stop laughing, what a great callback.
I saw them on that tour as well. I actually discovered them on twitter replying to some one (I think Ian cohen) and noticed eric had a st louis blues jersey on and some one else a cardinals hat on in their avatar so I naturally looked into them after learning they were also from st louis. have been pretty much my favorite band since I first heard the albatross in 2013/2014
People on Reddit saying there was a film crew both nights in Chicago and the band wore the same outfits so they are assuming they are going to put them out at some point. Last nights setlist was very different from night 1 so would make for a really cool release if so.
I can’t get over to the Loop early tonight…but if you post on this site (or don’t) and are going to the last show, let’s hang out in the darts room of Blueberry Hill on Sat at ~5:30 pm before the show. If you’re unfamiliar it’s a big bar/pop culture museum that’s a five min walk from The Pageant. To find the room just keep going left once you get inside until you see darts
im flying back tomorrow at 6 something AM, flying back sunday at 8. Going to feel awful but wouldnt miss this for the world
So I managed to catch Foxing in Netherlands earlier this year just by random luck and then in Minneapolis with Coheed and TBS. My brothers and I bought tickets to last night and STL Saturday. Driving down now and found tickets for tonight. Five Foxing shows this year. First band I've seen internationally and first band I'll have seen three nights in a row! Last night was incredible.
If anyone can get me a poster from the final show tomorrow I would happily pay you back plus shipping, tip, etc.
