Speak With the Dead is an incredible closer, blew my mind the first time I heard it

 

I'd put NMG and DDTM over this but this is really good.

 

I've only listened to the self-titled and Draw Down the Moon but I love both of them.

 

The first time I heard Hell 99 (on my first spin of the album), it helped propel me into a huge life changing decision that paved the way to escape a life I had devoted myself to for 17 years. (Kept my incredible wife and kids, and escaped the cycle of abuse that is evangelicalism.)

This album will always be incredibly special to me.

 

NMG is still #1 for me but then they throw out a line like “obsessed with what if it shatters or what if it doesn’t matter anymore” and I’m like damn maybe I need to rethink everything.

 

hall of frozen heads is one of my favorite songs by anybody, true. def the peak of this album for me and maybe my top song of theirs outright. insane shit

between that and lambert id been hoping the follow up of this would sound like the national since whenever they get into that bag they transcend but...:sobs:

 

With no basis whatsoever, I fully believe they’ll release another album some day

yeah i do think theyll come back eventually, in a while but one day. and in the meantime hopefully we get more smidley and music from eric in some fashion
