Like once a week I go to revisit the new album while getting head down work done, and I end up playing Secret History and Hell99 on repeat. This record rules. It is the follow up to NMG I was looking for.
Haven’t listened to this record since we had to put our dog down last month and threw it on today. I cried during barking
Went to the Netherlands last week for the first time, was planning my trip beforehand with my friend and we had a free night with no plans yet, so I decided to check bandsintown, and I literally jumped out of my chair when I saw Foxing was playing twenty minutes away from where we were planning to be that day. Saw them at the The Rotown in Rotterdam, Eric handed me his setlist after the last song. It was my ninth time seeing them so I knew what I was in for, but happy to say my friend was blown away. Foxing 05/22/2025 Rotterdam
such an amazing live band tho how tf did they drop hall of frozen heads from the set and not cry baby haha
I think to see a band in a different country, especially a favourite band, is definitely a bucket list adventure. Extra special. Glad you enjoyed it and love that it fell together like that.
Very hyped to catch them on a random one off in CT next week. Just 2 local openers and them headlining in between coheed/TBS dates. They are teasing rarities and I just feel blessed. This fucking record man. What a left hook that still HITS. Easily their best and I get excited thinking about how they could possibly follow this up
i cant connect with this as a front to back project the way i do with nearer my god, but its ceiling is certainly very high. hall of frozen heads might be my fav song from the band
My love for this one as a whole has faded a bit. Definitely put NMG firmly above it and maybe Dealer too. That being said, if I made a list of my 10 favorite Foxing songs I'm positive this record would have the most on it of any of theirs. I get hung up on the Cleaning/Barking and Dead Cat/Dead Internet portions of the record though, which do very little for me at this point.
Ok here's that list of songs lol sorry I couldn't resist: 1. Nearer My God 2. Weave 3. Looks Like Nothing 4. Lambert 5. Gratitude 6. Grand Paradise 7. Greyhound 8. Secret History 9. Speak with the Dead 10. Hall of Frozen Heads
my top 10 would be so loaded with nmg, i love that album so much. five cups, wont drown, t/t, lambert, bastardizer, gameshark, lich prince, dillards, unbelievable stuff then throw in hall and eiffel and you got my list unranked prob
This one has settled in as my favorite Foxing record and honestly one of my favorite albums of all time. I cannot overstate how much I love this album.
This record is special. Only knock against it is that it's so dense, I reach for it less often than previous records because I have to be in the headspace for it. But that's hardly even a knock!
Caught them for my 10th time last night! Excited for their next headlining tour. I met a 17 year old fan getting to see them for the first time, they were the only person I saw there wearing Foxing merch. They knew all the songs and even knew Smidley stuff, I was really impressed.
This is still probably my least favorite of their albums. Not really a fan of how dense it is. Nearer My God is still my favorite, I really love that album!
It's my second behind Foxing. But I also couldn't get into much of their earlier stuff. I just like a few songs off of each of those records. NMG, DDtM and Foxing are the only ones I can listen to front to back. Dealer is my least favorite and almost never spin it.
Exactly where I’m at with it. I adore this album and how dense and messy it is. I would probably say it’s their best but it’s so heavy lyrically that I need to be in the right headspace for it.
This album is exhausting as fuck, and I have to be in a full “fuck everything burn it all down” nihilistic mood to sit down with it, but I love it so much.
