I feel like ACBTLD is a lot more melodic than WATT tbh, it's just that it's also heavier and has more going on
Fair point, plus I forgot Johan left before NMS, and that still turned out amazing. I do think Bo leaving (on bad terms, IIRC) was a pretty big blow, though. Visuals was a clear dropoff that seemed directly attributable to the weak guitar contributions.
Been reading the lyrics along to it and holy fuck cleaning ugh. Song hits about a thousand times harder now.
His Dog milk passed recently. From what it sounds like he got out and passed somewhere possibly hit by a car
Completely and utterly coincidental, I listened to the first two just a couple days ago haha. And yeah, they're not that great. Frengers definitely is the right kickoff
fox cub through zookeper's boy is CRAZY. Apocalypso alone is just too good. I always wanted circa survive to come out swinging with an opus like ATGHK. I feel they definitely had it in them. Who knows maybe someday. Foxing has stepped up as the most interesting band in the scene right now. well deserved.
The comment on the last page about having to turn secret history down on the quiet parts is funny to me bc I turn it the fuck up during those parts lmao (and inevitably I get the iPhone headphones volume warning) im gonna be deaf soon tho don’t be me
“Nearer My God” and “Weave” will probably always be my two favorite Foxing songs but uh “Looks Like Nothing” and “Gratitude” are already extremely close. That’s the heart of this record for me.
Nothing has beaten the last half of "Grand Paradise" for me as far as Foxing songs go, but the last half of "Gratitude" is making a strong play.
This is actually a spot on comparison, when [Untitled] released I had no idea how to feel about it. It was (and still is) mwY's most challenging listen though the payoff when it lands is intense. I'm getting that here too. Edit: That said, I've only done a couple run throughs of this so far, still need to dig in a little deeper.
the first time I saw foxing was opening for mwy in St. Louis right after their equipment had been stolen and the STL scene went all in on donating to them. very special show that night
Hell 99 just autoplayed for me after yet another spin of the latest FYS album, I've heard a few Foxing tracks before but never dived into a full release. Immediately went into this new album, two songs in so far.... this might be the best stuff I have ever heard in my life. Like.. holy shit.. lol
I’m sure this’ll grow on me but if I’m being honest this album hasn’t blown me away yet and I’m not sure why. It’s REALLY good, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think it touches NMG for me. I’m not disappointed or anything at all, I just feel slightly farther removed from it when I listen than I expected, if that makes sense. I probably just need a few more late night listens. I also wonder if familiarizing myself with the singles didn’t help since they make up the first half of the album.
