Just wrapped up my first listen and I don’t think this band is for me anymore. Oh well, wish em all the best

 

Just woke up and gratitude is still the best song I’ve ever heard.

Also, lyric videos to all the songs on their YT channel now thank god.

edit: well everything but hell 99, greyhound, and barking for some reason

 

Really liking this start to finish. I think i prefer DDTM to this, but i also definitely need more time with it.

 

Top songs for me after a few listens

1.) Dead Internet (maybe the “biggest” song I’ve heard in years)
2.) Gratitude
3.) Kentucky McDonald’s
4.) Looks Like Nothing

The album is abrasive, chaotic, and dissonant - It's not immediately accessible. I won't know how I feel about it for weeks, but that's the point.

Kudos to Foxing for pushing their limits and the boundaries of rock music in 2024. That in and of itself is a feat when so many bands play it safe these days with the music, promotion, roll out etc.

I really love the vast majority of this but I really don’t like dead cat or the soft parts of the intro that ambient wailing thing they do sometimes just doesn’t land ever

 

I love all of "Secret History."

I agree it doesn’t work on Dead Cat at least, only hiccup on the record for me

 

Just finished my first listen, didn’t love it on first listen but I’m sure with repeated listens things will change.

 

For me it’s Cleaning and Kentucky McDonald’s that need to grow on me. Those haven’t really grabbed me yet and considering their placement on the track list it really disrupts the flow for me.

I do think the album is really good though.

This album is just too dense and abrasive for my palette, unfortunately

 

In addition to the songs they released beforehand I've only heard the opening track so far and already know this album is amazing and is gonna kill live

Tho I am still mad at my bf for showing me that sad episode of Futurama with the dog and I am worried that this is that, but the album version

 

Wow production/engineering wise this is the best sounding record they’ve ever made

Loved seeing them shout out Lantlos in the AP article, that's a great record

Yeah, Eric did a truly incredible job on the production and should be proud of this.

Also haven’t seen it mentioned but their touring bassist killed it here and very happy he’s on record

 

I think he’s a full fledged band member now. I feel like I read that in some of the press leading up to this but I’d never be able to find the article/interview again lol
